i've always felt that your expectations for yourself are always going to be more then for friends.

in this case, weight. some of my friends say they're fat, and i dont think they are. but when i look at myself (and i know i'm skinnier then them) i think I'M fat. it makes me feel hypocritical, because it's like *i* have to be really skinny to be pretty, while my friends don't. maybe it's just perception?

There's this girl in my dance class who says she's fat, but she's not. She's like inbetween skinny and average. She always calls herself fat. It gets annoying.

i'm skinny & i know it, i don't go saying "i'm fat" just for complements from people. that is dumb.

hmm well i don't think that i'm fat or skinny, i'm just average, but some say that i'm skinny.

I think i'm average, although people say i'm skinny, but most people I know are extremely short so I can look skinnier than them.


This happens to everyone, just change the subject and ignore it.

If a skinny girl says that she's fat over and over again, tell her "Yeah, you're fat. It's disgusting". She'll stop :)

Sometimes they don't stop though and just agree and then move to someone new.

Either they're insecure or trying to get attention/compliments. It annoys me.

I think it's just something that we do and don't really notice it a lot. Well, we don't notice when our friends who are bigger than us get annoyed.
I'm not blaming the media, but I think it has a good bit to do with the average woman's insecurities. I mean open a magazine and the women are like 5'7 90lbs.
But the reason we react to our friends who say negative things about themselves is probably because we care about them. When you care about someone you look beyond that and so I guess in a way you don't like them saying bad things about themselves.

well i have high self esteem so i never really call myself fat unless im just joking. but i admit that i sometimes can have too much high self esteem and that i sometimes do have a big stomache.

I had a normal-ish/chubby-ish friend who called himself skinny.
i told him, " what the hell, you're not skinny. i'm skinny. look at my arms! they're like sticks"

It's funny when people sugarcoat. "Oh, you are not fat - you are skinny". I saw someone say that to a girl that was 180lbs .

^ That's not right. It's misleading people.

I know this girl that's more than 200 pounds and she says that she's 110. Like, WTF?

Girls are just too self-concious.

But, people dont have the courage to say, " you're f**king fat, go on a diet".

so, why not say " oh, you're skinny" or "you're fine".



Yeah. i know. it's dishonest. There are people that doesnt like to hurt others.

I don't hurt others..
I just say "Oh, quit worrying.. You're fine." or "You're normal."

And it's not really that dishonest either.

You cant called an overweight person, "fine" or "normal".

The weights are abnormal. So yeah, I think it's dishonest.

But it's less dishonest than calling a 180 LB person skinny, right?

I think there's a nicer way to say it as a friend.
"Oh. i dont have a problem with your weight"

I'm know I'm fat. All my friends lie and say oh you arent you dont need to lose weight. But I'm fat. and I know it. I really hate it when people are like, oh I wish I looked like you, when they are like 3 sizes smaller than me. Just don't freakin lie. moo.

that actually doesn't happen to me often, nor my friends. well i guess one of us would initiate it but we all say it as sarcasm. we're all the same weight and height, just different frames

but i can imagine how annoying it would be when a skinny girl says it and you're obviously the bigger one.

The main reason people say "OMG OMGOMGOMG I'm fat!!!!!!!1111111111" is because they love to fish for compliments. It's lame.
