Do you think we should have a national holiday on 9/11 ?
Then .. have a parade on the street to remember the terror of 9/11. |

N.W.O.'s Birthday/Anniversary... yep believe it
How many more years of mourning do we need? And of course we'll never forget it's in our American history. In fact it's in world history, especially since we blind fully attack another Race, Religion, and land across the sea over it. It's sad people died from those events, but quite honestly (and I know people will hate me for this) but I'm much more upset with my politicians and Government in general than sad for those people who died on 9/11. But seriously... I know many Americans who don't even care about the meaning of Independence Day or what it stands for that matter, for God sakes... all they care about is buyin fireworks and shooting them. I think 9/11 will become a day to remind us how much we should hate and fear the Arabs and Muslims more than the day we lost soo many innocent lives. Yes hating and fearing will outweigh mourning on 9/11. |

That would be unfair to us Europeans! We'll be going to school. Ignore that.
Anyways, yes, a national holiday is in my opinion, reasonable. |

A parade is to celebrate things.
Why would you want to celebrate 9/11?? Why would you want to celebrate terror? |

Why think of it as the terror? Why not celebrate the courage and strength of many?
I think a parade would be a bit much, it should be a holiday. Like National Remembrence Day or something of the sort. |

I don't think so. I don't really even agree with the day being called patriot day.
People should be allowed to morn & remember the way they see fit. Why is it needed to declare it a holiday { a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done } . |

Maybe they should make it like Pearl Harbor Day.

was the dash between those years
Why think of it as the terror? Why not celebrate the courage and strength of many? I think a parade would be a bit much, it should be a holiday. Like National Remembrence Day or something of the sort. Exactly. The way I see it, September 11th marks the day when people's lives were taken away, but it's also a day to remember their lives, their achievements, and celebrate the fact that they got to experience the pain and joy of life. Also, I think that a holiday would mark their family member's courage to move past the fact that their loved one is gone and to, in a sense, live life for the ones who have died. Almost like the quote: QUOTE He noted that first came her date of birth And spoke the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years I dunno if that made sense, but my thought are kind of scattered about this topic. |

Why is it needed to declare it a holiday { a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done } . Because, although it was a horrible day and so many lives were taken away, it marks a turning point in American unity. That day is remembered as a time our nation stayed strong, stuck together, mourned together, and came together under a terrorist attack. Although so many people blame the attack on blah blah blah foreign policy blah blah blah stupid G.W. Bush blah blah blah... 6 years ago, when this occured, patriotism really rose in America and people supported their country. Even though I don't agree with some of America's policies and/or leadership... I still think that as an American, I have an allegiance to my country. If we don't stick together, then we fall apart and that makes us weak. A national remembrance day would appropriate to 1) mourn the people we lost in the 9/11 attacks and 2) remind us that as a nation, unity is key. |

national holiday? no way. it's not like independence day.. we're not going to have fireworks & throw barbeques on september 11th. it's the one day where america seems to be calm & nothing else really seems to matter.

No. no. no. I don’t mean, "Terror" and “violent”.
I mean, to remember the day of terror, pray for the people that died, worthy lives, hard workers, firefighters, and yeah. It’s supposed to be a... "Sad day" to celebrate. When i mentioned parade, i was thinking of a "twin tower" vehicle marching down the street as remembrance. There shouldn’t be school on 9/11 either. ;]]] |

Uhm No.
I personally would find it incredibly dumb to have a holiday for 9/11 or have a parade for it. I mean we have a moment of silene which I think is nice, but a parade. I think thats a little over the top and people are usually happy in parades.. I suppose I'll have to think on the idea more. |

Maybe instead of a parade thing, we can have a whole bunch of cops and firefighters and people march around the streets in silence.
No school in 9/11 is a pretty good idea. It gives everyone time to mourn the losses. |

I do think there should be school, if there wasn't people would just use the day to have fun or something. I'd rather keep the moment of silence.
I like the way my school does it. We go to school but because so many people lost family members and friends (I'd say more than 1/3) we have a memorial service in the morning on the front lawn. People speak and read letters written to loved ones. We lower the flag to half mast and sing the national anthem. It's really nice. I think it should be something more like that. |

I don't think we should go as far as letting school out, perhaps some one lost people on that day, its nice for them to have people there for them.
Although our school doesn't do anything, the principal gets on the intercom and talks about them for like a half a minute and then we say the pledge and thats it. |

I don't think we should go as far as letting school out, perhaps some one lost people on that day, its nice for them to have people there for them. But some people have to attend memorial services and then school schedules would get a little messed up because a lot of students (and teachers, too) lost loved ones during 9/11. They'd be absent for school and since there aren't enough students, teachers can't really continue with lessons. I think it'd be a lot better for everyone (in NY at least) to have the day off. (Did interpret it correctly? Because it's worded a little funny. |
