How do you let out YOUR feelings? I need ideas. Journals/diaries don't really work out for me. Any other ideas?

Ok, I know there's a topic like this somewhere, but I can't find it haha. Oh well. It must be really super old. tongue.gif If anyone else finds it I'll close this or merge them. _smile.gif

I write songs and play guitar. There's nothing that soothes me more than that.

I usually have to talk/type out my feelings.

Having a xanga comes in handy, and the whole personal journal thing works for me as well. Something about actually writing it out that makes it special, i dunno lol.

It helps a lot when someone will sit there and just listen to me vent.

If we're talking about anger or something then usually I try to work-out or do something physical.

It really matters on the situation.
Crying works lol.
Creating or Destroying something
as in Painting a picture or Smashing a glass vase.

All really helpful =)

I hide my feelings. I bottle them up inside me, and I explode. Only REALLY special people get to talk to me about my feelings. whistling.gif

Same here, I don't tell my parents because they don't exactly understand me. My friends - eh, somehow it alway gets out. Or if I am extremely pissed off I break something or I throw it at my wall. Usually I regret it afterwards, last time I threw my wireless headphones at the wall & it stopped working sad.gif.

Exactly. I usually try not to explode, and just let out a little at a time to keep my sanity. I think it's good to keep your feelings in sometimes, just wait it out, and in a while you can look back and not regret hurting your pillow or whatnot. That's the kind of way others let out their feelings, but I prefer to keep them to myself.

How do you let out your feelings? I don't pinch.gif I'm trying to though.

Yea it takes some practice which Journals and diaries never work. I always end up forgetting about them or don't exactly know what to write in them. So I just write about my day and the basic outline. I don't exactly have many friends or well I don't really have any friends I would ever open up to. Seems like a lot of people I know find internet friends that seem as if they care and talk to them. Either way it doesn't work for me as far as I know pinch.gif

I am usually alone, so when my mind is idle, I just think back. I think back and sort out my feelings. I used to do voice recordings, but I don't want to be heard. Journals.. haven't used one in years, and I only wrote in it when things were really bad--I've had it for more than 6 years.
I don't call anyone since it's so hard to explain what I'm thinking and why, so eh. Now, I just type out what I want to scream out or just yell inside my head. Yeah, lots of yelling when I'm idle-minded. Just don't develop any harmful ways of coping--no matter how much it may "help."
Yeah.._unsure.gif.

Cry, vent, or write (not blogs/journals); moreso the second than the other two, lately.

I rarely tell people how I feel. Anyway, most of the time, I scream, cry or keep them.

I usually just tell random people.. not THAT random but I wouldn't just dump all my feelings onto one person, just a couple of people. Other times, I just write it on xanga to let people know how i'm feeling and it makes me feel better, i guess. i guess it depends on what i'm feeling... sad, happy, angry. sometimes the next morning i wake up i feel completely different.

^ I have to agree with that. I try very hard to be emotionally independent, but sometimes you need that friend, that ear and that shoulder. It's made the difference between spiraling down further into a depression and being able to climb out of it.
