Advice for Acting by Jane _smile.gif
1. (The most important rule everrr) Always have fun no matter what. You don't have to struggle just to be big.

2. Learn to be professional and learn to take rejection.

Me, I'm a cancer >_> I'm pretty sensitive but these kinda things we all have to learn to do. When someone critizes your acting or what you do, don't take it as something to look down upon. Listen to what they have to say--they could be right and it could be something you can work on.

3. Stage fright: This is completely normal. Sometimes I get stage fright as well.

Well...have you ever watched Hannah Montana? Ever seen the episode where she's warming up? And she goes Ang Ang Ang Ang like a dog? xD Well always try to lossen up and relax before performing. It calms the nerves and let's you focus.

4. Breathe.

Probably the most important rule. If you ever feel like you're forgetting a line, take a deep breath. If you can't remember your line just continue to act the emotion.

5. Practice.

There are many actors/actresses out there. Many your friends and you can have a little fun and act out a movie. You guys will be practicing and sharpening your skills when you don't even know it!

6. Be a social butterfly.

Actors have very outgoing personalities, so why not you? Try talking to people more, start conversations (even with your friends!) don't be afraid to smile. This will definately boost your confidence and break through the shy barrier.

You should never give up. If you get rejected, try again! (= Trust me. That's just 1 of the 70 auditions that you will get turned down. The other 69 are up to you.

Advice for the photographers Submitted by Arjuna Capulong
To photographers out there:
If you're planning to be a photographer as your future career, you'd have an advantage if you start some kind of small business early, like now, or whenever you think you're ready (as soon as possible, however).
You can then start building your reputation as a photographer, while getting the gist of running a business. It's a pretty good experience, overall.

ALSO! Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about barbizon or anything of the above.

There's still more to come...

I found a website for NASA jobs:

http://www.nasa.gov/about/career/index.html

They hire scientists (many branches of science), engineers, computer programmers, personnel specialists, accountants, writers, maintenance workers, and other people.
You can even get internships and jobs and volunteer there.

I wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger.
And then I wanted to be an interior designer. So it's between those two, I guess. Or I might not even choose any of them...

I'm Elaine..

We can work on a bubble on Mars :)

I want to be an astrophysicist/astronomer/spectroscopist.

But I'd much rather be an astronomer/engineer for NASA's JPL.. I'd LOVE to work on some future Mars rovers and maybe some for Europa. And when the time comes, I'll begin work on plans for colonization on another planet.

Of course, I'll do all that after I graduate from CALTECH or MIT. Most likely Caltech though 'cause that's my dream college. biggrin.gif

Queens, New York.
Caltech is near where you live! You're lucky.
I don't know of any good science/engineering colleges nearby.. Maybe Columbia or something, I guess?

I want to move to Pasadena or something when I grow up 'cause I want to work at NASA's JPL which is located in Caltech, I think.

You should try Bucknell University! It's about three hours from NYC, and was recently ranked the #8 undergrad engineering college in the US (2003 data).

Or the Rochester Institute of Technology or the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Both are in NY, and Troy isn't far from NYC. MIT is pretty close by, too.
