Ok, I saw this movie last night and while it was suspenseful, the beginning and end don't make sense. I'm not going to give it away for those who haven't seen but the movie doesn't tie together well. I left the theatre so confused.

I saw the movie a few weeks before it came out. It had been released in Europe quite a while ago. I don't get what you mean. The film tied together just fine for me, and made perfect sense. But, this is what I have heard: They changed the ending for the American release. If so, you probably missed out on a decent ending. Also, the change could have damaged the internal logic of the film. That sucks.

Altogether, it wasn't a bad horror thiller. It was Alien, inside a cave. With a monster design not nearly as cool. whistling.gif

Alright. (Spoilers)

As for the intro and ending of the film, I'm not sure how different the US release is, but I can show you the original ending, so you can work that out yourself. I guess in the US release Sarah lives instead of dieing, but whatever. Anyways, the intro of the film is meant to setup characters, as well as create an intense unseen human conflict between Juno and Sarah. Sarah is our main protagonist and Juno is the leader-type Asian woman. That conflict is in the fact that Sarah's husband was having an affair with Juno. Sarah seemed to have an idea as to what might have been happening, but after the accident, she doesn't pay much attention. Instead, she begins to slowly disassociate into a reality where he daughter never died. Note the numerous birthday cake dream sequences.

Now, a lot of action and different events occur in the cave, but when that one woman is accidently 'killed' by Juno, she pulls off a necklace. This necklace is clearly an indicator that Juno had a strong relationship with Sarah's husband. When Sarah see's this, her suspicions are confirmed. Her husband was having an affair with Juno. The pain of this realization is only amplified by the current situation and the fact that her husband and daughter were both killed in the accident not long before.

Because of this, Sarah, near the end, decides to leave Juno for dead. Now, this is where I hear the US ending and the UK ending branch off. But, instead of explainging it, I'll show you it. Here is the YouTube video of the original UK ending.

Original UK Ending

Looks real stupid? I don't get how this looks stupid in comparison to most of the junk released in American theaters.

But, anyways. It wasn't really scary, but nothing is. It didn't really creep me out either. It tries to scare you a few times, and if you're a jumpy character, it should get you. But, the real ride is in the thrill aspect. Aside from two characters, the film is hollow. But, those two characters alone push an interest in the audience. And, if you catch onto the conflict early, the conclusion is very satisfying. One of the best horrors of two years.

shifty.gif

Than I suggest E tu vivrai nel terrore - L'aldilà or The Beyond by Lucio Fulci.

grinnn.gif

[The gore isn't too graphic. Although, there is a great deal of the red stuff. And, the intro has a pretty nasty, uhmmm. Then there is that pick axe. Well, I guess... if you hate gore, it would probably be a bad idea. Heh heh.]

Great movie

At least, for me it was because my friends made it even more scarier and fun. But even without all the added excitement and fun, the movie was really good. I got into it and pissed off in the beginning and starting saying "shh !!" and " be quiet!" during it too. And I scared my friend and the whole theatre started laughing, it was fun.

Overall I think the movies pretty good and I disagree with Keira ( MzKandi ) I think the ending and the beginning have some relevance to eachother. In the beginning when the husband is being worried about Juno and Juno saying " We all lost something in that crash " and the saying that Sarah's husband used to say on the gift her husban gave Juno, and in the end when Sarah finds out, her anger drives her to leave Juno. I thought it was real good.

f**k people. It's just an online forum, and unless they want to talk shit in life then they can shove their little keys from their keyboard up their ass. (;

Maybe someone should take the initiative and warn us, mod's is slaaackin.

Anyways. At Century I don't think you're allowed to, because they be ttellin us that we can't bring in our food from other places and stuff.

Well, since you're worried about spam [/spam ]

I watched the original UK ending, and I think it was good too, but I still think Juno should have lived. That she should have punched Sarah in her face and ripped that thing out and made it to the outside. But when she stabbed the other girl in the neck I was like =0 omgoooooood. It was sad. The movie was sad but still so damn good, I'm bout to go rent it because someone ^ up there said it would be at the video stores but the UK version.
