Congratulations! _smile.gif

There's a really weird ad about closing your teeth gap for only $19.95 above this quick reply box...ermm.gif

My boyfriend got his pulled out about a week and a half ago.
He still can't really eat anything!
He can talk and sorta sing now. But when he yawns it hurts,
and he can eat things like oatmeal and pasta, thats about it.
He is craving real food. haha.

I had no idea wisdom teeth were this painful.
But glad to know you are feeling better :)

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.....

I've fallen over from the cuteness. I hope my boyfriend does that with me _smile.gif

I have yet to get mine taken out - but I have a consultation TODAY about my wisdom teeth removal with my oral surgeon. One thing I will NOT stand for is getting them out on Thanksgiving break. NO. That's FOOD DAY! Will not, Willnot...

But anyway, I have oral surgery abotu 6 years ago that was 10 times worse (so the doctor says) - I have 4 permanent teeth removed, 2 baby teeth, and 2 teeth chained to be pulled down from their sideways positions in my gums to the correct positions with the rest of my absolutely beautiful smile. I hated those braces days. But hey, I only needed one pill of Vicadin and I was set pinch.gif... actually the DR. was surprised that I felt no pain.. at all. So I guess that's a good omen for my wisdom teeth.

Okay, that was a super-long reply... I'm done now.

^ You might not have reached the point that the doctor thinks you need to think about it yet. Most doctors suggest to get them removed before college... usually they start talking about it freshman/sophmore year.

Depends. You're mouth may be big enough or spacious enough to warrant them room. The deal with most people is that when the wisdom teeth reach a certain point, they can "become impacted." Basically, they can screw up the alignment of your teeth because there isn't enough space (so much for braces pinch.gif), remain in the same spot because there isn't anywhere to move and become infected (that's not fun)... or they can cause gum/nerve damage.

I still have mine. Is it really THAT painful? What happens during the process?!?! Do they put you to sleep? haha. im just curious.

It depends on the person. I take surgeries well, and I don't usually have much pain. Don't worry, the doctor will make sure you are comfortable. Almost everyone gets this done, so there's nothign to worry about _smile.gif I just got out of my consultation with my oral surgeon - he said that in his practice they do put you under... that way you "fall asleep" and then wake up and the whole thing is done. That's nice - that it only takes a hour.

ok so everyone ready formy gross story...
sooo theres these little holes from where the teeth used to be.. and well when i could finally open my mouth all the way i decided to look in my mouth and make shur there was no crap stuck back there... shurr enough in one of the holes there was SHIT. lol ewwy u say.. just food particales that found a home...soo i opened my mouth reeeeel wide and took my tweezers and tweezed it out... and then rinsed with salt water of course to provent infection.

u think discusting...

i think im preventing myself from future problems with infection! yay for me! biggrin.gif
to answer some of ur questions they put u to sleep yes.. it hurts but they give u strong meds... but it still kinda hurts.. i have little bruises on my face so it looks like i get beaten tongue.gif u get swollen it sucks but it goes down after like 4 daysisshh, theres bleeding in the begingin so u have to have gauze in ur mouth... but once it clots ur fine biggrin.gif brushing ur teeth kinda sucks at first... eating is a bitch cuz u have to eat with ur front teeth.. i dont recommend chicken salad... that (im prettyy shurr) is what was stuck in my hole... sounds weird.. its true...

nemore q's just ask.. i like anwserin questions it makes me feel special!

^^^^o and mine were impacted...all of them.

^ Jeez... I guess you had a bad anethesiologist. That had to be terrible. I've never had problems like that, and I got 6 teeth removed at once.

I've had my braces off for two years - I'm gonna be a Senior, and your dentist will tell you. They usually don't start showing a bad potential until you're 15/16 years old.
