Excuse me, handle what? I’m sorry. I don’t understand you.

cB is about contributing, having fun, making connections, and dedication.

How many active official members do we have?
To me, there are not a lot of active members.
Are there any ways to trigger more members?
What are micron’s true intentions?
Do you know it?
Look at what he done for us to allow more people promote to cB.
….
Createblog isn’t getting anywhere like this

Recently, I had been more active because I had “fun”. What made the “fun” was, weird addiction, Kathleen, smallsXalmighty and other people. I don’t remember. It was a week ago.

The “fun” was way too much and wasn’t unmoderated.

That’s an result of a unmoderated forum.

But, it can be improved if you guys let us have some “fun” instead of taking it away.

I know its part of a job for moderator but things can get better.

Become a cB Official Promoter!

Get your friends to join createblog.com and be promoted! Official promoters get to strut around cB in the Official Promoter member group, which is shown in the miniprofile of each post. It's cB's way of saying thank you - for contributing to the community of members!

Also, official promoters recieve the same privileges as official members.

Look at that! Oh, an idea of promotion. Who’s trying to get more members contributing to cB?

Did it work?

Yeah, do you get an idea? I’m not good at explaining things but I just want people to think about it. all I’m asking is to provide ... improvement for our satisfactions.

Look, we're basically just going around in circles on this leniency thing. Yet it still keeps being brought up. Let's stop talking about it. Stop asking the mods to be more lenient or more strict, because the word we're all looking for is FAIR.

If you think a mod isn't being fair, please give us a specific example and what you think he/she should be doing differently.

Do we even have any Official Promoters?
Though I did get one person to join, they never really ended up posting. Shame really.

I think we can all live with being "fair."

Hey guys sorry. I was at my girlfriends all day. And I had to fix my TV that broke, and I fixed it! I won! Oh, wrong thread. ha.

Anyways, thanks everyone for your input. I'll try and catch up. At least we're getting somewhere. I know we've "tried" the members input thing and it didn't work, but who's to say this won't? It's better then sitting on your ass and doing nothing about it. mellow.gif

Well, stop talking about it won't solve anything. It's obviously a wide spreading concern for members, so shouldn't you guys pay attention to it? You can't just push it aside. That's not doing your job as a mod.

I don't get mad. _smile.gif

Anyway, I'm only trying to say that we're finished discussing the leniency issue. We've decided that it's not necessarily best to be more lenient or more strict, because neither works. I said just mod, and apparently that isn't working either because it's not enough to just use common sense. That brings me to the last sentence of that paragraph, which was completely ignored, so I'll type it out like it's the first time..

What I would like to say might be totally obvious, but above all we should be trying to be fair. This means sticking to our rules about issuing verbal warnings, adopting a more clear idea of what spam is and isn't (and yes, sticking to that, too), giving out an unbiased treatment on a member to member basis. Being that there are so many of us that have different levels of leniency, perhaps some of us need to change our habits and if that is the case, I know I would seriously like to know.

For the record, I'm not trying to be snippy, and Steven, I don't know what you're implying because my post was not directed at anyone in particular at all. However, if you want something in response to one of your posts, I would like to say that you're trying to make us seem like tyrants. Do you really think we're that hard to get along with? =\

Brenden, perhaps we don't understand each other. We should fix that. flowers.gif

Mona, i am absolutely in favour of member input. however, the mods need to create something for members to give input ON, rather than trying to have policy decided by the million and two members of cb all at once from scratch, because it doesnt work. We can see it in this thread already, people misunderstanding each other, and going in circles.

Dani has it. Find something, stick to it, and apply it fairly. THEN, if problems arise, fix them one by one by looking at the cause of each issue, be it with the mods or with the members, and address the appropriate party. It REALLY is not hard.

No, we understand each other. You're saying exactly what I've been saying all along about being fair and sticking with it. The problem is each mod has their own idea of what the rules are and each one of them uses them differently, so it's hard to tell sometimes what's what. One mod might think some topic is fine and another thinks the complete opposite. It gets confusing. pinch.gif

I just didn't like that you were avoiding a problem, but in fairness, I know it's not easy to deal with issues sometimes. flowers.gif

It's things like that where we don't really have anywhere to step off of. You say we're power hungry, we're too relaxed, you hate us, but most of the time you don't give us examples which would help us improve.

I know she might not have seriously meant it, but still.

you can give us feedback on who you think needs to do a better job on modding. that's what the "moderator performance" thread is for. as long as you don't post useless posts like "i hate arjuna capulong!"

i agree with dani. you guys are saying we're either too strict or too lenient. give us examples about what we're doing wrong and how we can be more fair. what i think we need most is a clear-cut, easy-to-follow list of guidelines. a list of guidelines that every one can follow by without any misunderstandings. and now we have that, since mona has updated the guidelines on the rules of spam.

don't take my post the wrong way. my definition of useless was saying you hated him without any reason why. it's nice that you have feedback, but you could help him improve by telling him why. mellow.gif

That's another thing I pointed out, that we all have different levels of leniency. This is why it's not enough for us to just use common sense when modding, we all think differently. If the members think a particular mod is making WRONG decisions, please call her (sorry Jesus, using "she" for simplicity's sake) out on it. She won't lose her position or get in trouble because
she received some negative criticism, but it will at least give her a chance to try to change a few of her habits. I am completely open to criticism. If you think I'm doing something that's not fair or doesn't make sense, I'm okay with that. I would honestly like to know so I can be more conscious of what I need to be changing.

QUOTE

Oh.. nah. I wasn't trying to avoid it by any means. I just wanted to get people to take a different approach to that issue. I suppose you had taken your break from cB at the time that this issue was discussed, but it was several pages of the same thing, and by the end of it, it seemed like we had actually come to a conclusion. But trying to fix that issue doesn't seem to be working, so I figured we might as well not dwell on it. Let's take a different approach to "fixing cB".

---
Seon Ho, is giving you a verbal warning even necessary anymore? Let's not make useless posts, please.

Oh no. Sometimes it's better if you do drop the names. Otherwise the mods will be making the same mistake.

Or rather, if you don't want to drop the names on the boards, PM the person with the criticism.
