my mom's making me go to one and i'm really nervous because i think i'm going to be completely embarrassed (especially if it's a man)...it seems like the weirdest thing EVER wink.gif. i've never been to one so is it really bad? or is it just awkward?

well they chose their job..and they are suppose to make you feel very comfortable....and they've seen it all before, so just think of it that way.

Hmm...I haven't been to one yet, but I've heard that it's not uncomfortable for the most part.

I mean, of course you're going to be nervous, but, they're supposed to be professional, and they've seen everything before, so it shouldn't be bad. _smile.gif

I was more nervous sitting in the waiting room then what I was when I actually went in with the doctor. Yes it's uncomfortable but they do try to make you as comfortable as possible.

I've never been to one, If you feel uncomfertable because this gynocolegist is a man, is there a way of having them change it so you can talk to a female gynocolegist?

well you should go when you're older...like regular check ups or something. and you have to go if you're pregnant or if you have like problems so you're probably going to have to go sooner or later.

make sure you wash yourself carefully!!

i read in a magazine, this girl went to a gynocolegist and he stuck something up her vagina as part of the check-up, and it popped out and hit her doctor's head.

My mom told me I don't need to go to one until I'm sexually active. But I might have to before that because of problems with my period.

My mom has a guy for a gynocologist. He delivered me! I've met him, and he's actually really cool. Gender doesn't matter. If it ends up being a guy, but he's professoinal about then it shouldn't make a difference.

You're first visit will be a little scary but the will treat you with care and try his best to make sure you're comfortable. Once you start making regular visits for annual exams and such you'll find it's a sinch.

Having a male gynocolegist would be a little awkward I suppose. My doctor is a female and I prefer it that way.

ahem...i've never been. my mom says she'll start taking me once I'm sixteen and I know she's going to try and get me a female daughter. stubborn.gif I hate it when she coddles me like that but I suppose I'm lucky...
Anyways, he's supposed to be professional about it...if he isn't just think of sueing him and how much money you could make off of him

haha it's funny cause you said daughter instead of doctor. but yeah i'm not going cause i'm sexually active...i've just been having problems with my period. but i think i might still have to shoot something if i get a male doctor. i know he'd be professional...but it's just weird. lol

well its your first time, don't be nervous. Its not hard at all and its doesn't take long at all. I had to go with a person once and sit in the room with them pinch.gif

It was weird.

But you only have to go once a year, and its not a option for someone that asked that earlier. Well it is, but you may regret it later in life.

lol i live with my dad
and i actually asked him when i have to go today,
he just sort of got all quiet and stared at me
and then said I don't know

hehe.gif That's awesome. I love the moment when fathers realize their daughters are growing up. I got mine after I told him I needed birth control to regulate my period. A full twenty minutes later when I'm walking out the door, he sticks his head and bellows "NO SEX!!" after me.

And uh, yeah. The gynocolegist. Although I haven't been, I heard the anticipation of the appointment is worse than the exam itself. There is a tool that's fondly called a duck bill that is inserted into you that's supposed to be the most uncomfortable part of the exam. None of it should hurt.
