Who's going to call it strict when it's flat out spamming without purpose? I mean at least Forum Games have purpose.

That's not its original purpose. It only became that due to moderators shoving trash threads in there.

Well, if it wasn't for the silly members making the trash threads..

Okay i'll quit now.

But, uhm, yeah. Everyone would get mad ebcause their thread got closed and so, well, why not move it to sandbox?

That's when you need to be strict, not when people are making actual conversation within a thread. I mean you guys are just letting them fill the entire Sandbox up with threads intended for blatant, useless spam when you should be closing them or warning them. Moreover, there's no post count in a lot of other forums. You wouldn't let them spam those forums up, would you?

Kathleen brings up a good point. The introduction forum, for example, has disabled post count but spam threads and the like have been closed there without hesitation for the most part, there and in other forums as well. The thing is the Sandbox wasn't created orginally created to be a spam forum. It was only after the coming of such things as 'First person to post to (insert page number) that alot of topics based soley for conversation or inside jokes evolved. In most all instances these type of topics would be closed in the Lounge but they don't neccesarily belong in the Sandbox either. Some mods have mentioned it as a comprimise but if it's just balant spam and serves no purpose other than for the few involved then we should not have them around period. Keeping them open isn't going to solve the problem of making cB more fun and not closing topics that serve no real purpose in the first place doesn't make mods strict. Sometimes I think members say that because they know that kind of stuff gets to certain mods.

Kathleen, I understand entirely your concern. I also appreciate that it's getting out of hand. It's something we're feeling out (at least that's my opinion). We'll figure it out eventually.

I know that's a quasi answer. pinch.gif

Edited - Just saw Kiera's response. I honestly do think that the majority of recent Sandbox threads just need to be closed.

Edited x2 - I'm cleaning things up there. I hope people don't get too upset with me.

Well if they were that pointless wouldn't they die down on their own? Why don't members bump the games up? (I understand your point anyway.) And there are some topics that should be closed..but I think we could still move topics with less point to the Sandbox. But not the really stupid ones..

They are dying down, but just because they die down doesn't mean they won't be back by the poster if they're not closed, thus leaving an opportunity for future spam. I bump the games up - some others do as well. They're just getting bogged down by poor threads. I also don't understand why some topics in the Lounge haven't been moved to the Sandbox when others have (i.e. Official Confessions, "I Win/Lose" threads). There is no conversation going on in those threads. How are they any different than the forum games?

^I agree. I remember being warned because I started a club a long time ago. Wasn't there a rule against clubs?

There was.. I just don't really see anything wrong with them so I've made a personal decision not to close them. Of course, there's nothing official in regards to clubs right now, so if as the staff decides against them, I'll start closing them.

ahh well, i would like to request a reopening (and bumping) of the official racists club.

i've always thought of clubs (in real life) that define themselves by the race of thier members to be well, racist. so i kinda want to bring that to the 'official clubs' scene.

I agree, but why can't we just close them all in general? Not only are they pointless (and racist), but they produce a lot of spam..

Dudddeeee where's all the people staff? I've only seen Suzzette and Mona and Kiera and Dani in the community center, and three of those four are admin/headstaff. And where's Rebecca (Zatanna) these days? :[

So we have seven people staff now; we used to have a lot more than that, didn't we?

I honestly think the mods should be more active. There's been mornings to afternoons where no one's been on - I mean, it's bad enough not seeing them on at night, but mornings and afternoons?

I mean I know that Rebecca's gone, but there are others. I agree - I've only been seeing Suzzette and Dani lately. pinch.gif
