so i live in Queens and what i've noticed is that like most of the people here like the Yankees better than the Mets. people say that the Mets suck, but they're leading the National League..

why do you think that people like the Yankees better?

Ok, well a lot of Yankees fans don't necessarily hate the Mets (I'm a Yankees fan, and I like the Mets as well). And, I think there are still many fans of the Yankees because they've built such a dynasty of world championships, that they have a legacy, even though they haven't won or even been in the World Series in a while.

And, a lot of people say that the Mets are only doing well now; but that they'll go back to their usual selves in the fall. I want another subway series in October, so I hope the Mets keep up the good job and that the Yankees start picking up the slack.

[i love the mets]! lol really, ever since my ex got me involved w/ baseball [him being a big mets fan] i really liked them, not only b/c ppl did but the games! and YES THEY HAVE BEEN KICKING ASS OUT ON THE FIELD

um. yeah. well, a lot of people i know love the Yankees but hate the Mets. one day, i actually wore my Mets cap to class, they stole it! (i got it back though.) and when we all went to the game last week, they cheered for the Cubs! they were like "LETS GO CUBS!" and i was like hitting them with my water bottle and yeah.

the weird thing is that some of my friends think i like the BoSox just 'cause i like the Mets.. i really, really hate the BoSox. i like the Yankees. i just like the Mets more than the Yankees.



it would be really interesting to see the Yankees and the Mets vs eachother in the World Series. i hope that happens.

That's so weird, Queens and Brooklyn are pretty much Mets territory. It's the yankees for me though, but I pretend to despise the Mets to piss off my brother.

some "gangsters" in Brooklyn just like the Yankees because everyone else does. and the Yankees have a lot of awesome caps. and most of the people i know (the ones who live in Queens) don't like the Mets. i've actually took a survey for my class before. it was like 34-2. 34 like the Yankees, 2 like the Mets (including me).

well duuh mets is originated in queens while yankees is originated in the BX... everybody [well ppl i know & live there] like the yankees b/c of the wheres the stadium is at.. but anyways w/ the baseball caps; WOW i hate when ppl where baseball caps just to match their clothes and dont even know what team it is [or atleast seen one game of theirs]

I'm a Yankee fan, but I like the Mets for their "underdogness." I will go out and say they suck, but then again, I've said the Knicks suck and I love the Knicks. I always thought Brooklyn people were more inclined to Mets because the Dodger fans became Mets fans when the Dodgers moved away. Plus the Cyclones are like the minor league Mets.

For the record, I was born in Manhattan, lived in Washington Heights.

not many of my friends were interested in baseball when the Dodgers were still around.. and almost all of my friends in Brooklyn either like the Yankees or don't like baseball at all.

and it's not just where the stadium is at. most of the people i know only like the Yankees because they've won the most World Series in MLB. and some just have pride in where they live (the Bronx).

LOL. Good question.. None, actually. But my grandparents, who lived in Brooklyn told me that my uncles liked the Yankees when the Dodgers moved. Which is why my family likes the Yankees more.
