I passed my drivers test. This thread is dedicated to that and to my 7,000th post.
Said I wouldn't post until I got my drivers license, so my 7000th post and drivers license could fall at the same time.
Ha, that could of backfired horribly.

Yes. I was in shock.
blink.gif

I took it pretty hard after failing the first time, and when the guy turned to me today and said, "Congradulations, you passed." I still looked at him with this dumb look on my face.
"Did I really?..."
It's amazing driving by myself now.
So much freedom.

Ah anyway, I wanted to type out some tips for taking your driving test.

DRIVING TEST TIPS!!!

-STOP at the STOP SIGN. Don't roll through, don't stop after the white line, stop at the stop sign. [I failed the first time because I didn't]

-Always use your blinkers when you turn. Doesn't matter if you are turning right and there is no possible way you could turn left unless you wanted to end up entangled with the railing, put on your blinker. Every time you turn, swipe that thing on.

-Turn your head BEFORE you turn to make sure no cars are coming. Turn left and right. I got points taken off for not turning my head to the left and right. [Even though to the left was a bunch of bushes, he still wanted me turning to look at the beauty of nature apparently.] So turn your head and check.

Everyone feel free to add your driving tips, I will post more later if I can.

Congratulations!!!!

When making a right on red, remember to stop and then roll out instead of rolling out and then stopping to look and turn. This also goes for when you are making a stop yet you can't really see if it's okay to go. You still have to stop at the stop sign and then roll out.

Try to glance at all the mirrors occasionally.

Lol, congrats! When I got my license, I had the AC all the way up and the guy literally had me go around one block and we came back and he said "Wow. That air conditioning nearly put me to sleep." I thought that was hilarious. He really was half asleep.

So, there's a tip. If you get your license in the summer, crank the AC up!

I GOT MY PERMIT TODAY. I didn't really study either.

Well, since I just finished the class, I remember most of the rules.

- Turn your head left, right, left when making a turn.
- Turn your head around when backing out.
- California's Basic Speed Law. Read it.
- 4 major in order steps: Lock doors, fix seat, fix mirror, put on seatbelt.
- Space cushion, don't tailgate either.

OOOH! I GOT ONE!

Don't go over the speed limit, thus causing you to run through a light too quickly.

I kinda did that on my drivers test.

BUT I PASSED MINE TOO! Now, I just gotta wait till December to get my license.

Hooray Dmv test buddy =)

I'm from Maryland, Anne Arundal County.
They don't make you go out on the road or anything,
they make you go through a course out back.
They grade you with a point system, and if you mess up big time you fail automatically. [Hit a curb, hit someone, hit a dog, hit a tree, pass a stop sign..etc.]
They make you parallel park, do a 3 point turn, and back up about 20-40 feet.
Not too shabby. But they also check for little things, such as when you turn your head, blinkers, the lane that you use, just how you generally drive.
Fun stuff.
-ah and I didn't have to pay. I payed like $50 for my learners permit though. But my provisional i didn't have to pay.
And omg i was nervous too! I Could not move.
Don't worry about failing. If you do, then just take it over again.
I felt so bad failing the first time, but it's okay, it really is.
Atleast you got through it once.
The lady waiting in line before me failed 6 times!

JENG,
Good luck!
