we've all seen a lot of requests for layouts for less popular blogging sites to be included on createblog. and i ask, why not?

It's not too hard to include them. We don't have to make the content, users of the site can. Those users benefit by having a site that serves thier needs. And besides some coding (which, i assume, would entail copying over some code from the other blog submit forms, etc, and some tweaking), all the work would be left up to the users of the site.

This is createblog. and we help people create blogs. why not people at less popular blogging sites as well?

Yeah, but the question is whether or not we have designers or knowledgeable people for those particular sites.

^ agreed.

It would be all too confusing if we supported 1209809483 blogs at the same time. Maybe we could choose some which are getting popular...

Like facebook? I know lots of college friends who have them.. you can edit their css right? I think so... it can't be too hard to learn. Us designers can adapt _smile.gif

Yeah, I don't think so, either.

Yeah I think we should expand to a few sites, but even when we do, we should wait for our designers to get acquainted with the site before actually creating forums.

Agreed. Just one ... possibly two - if we added anymore, the requests for others would get out of control.

no, you can't have layouts for facebook. thats why it's so great. it's so simple and you aren't distracted by flashy graphics.

Xanga and blogger are dying now because of myspace. Everyone has a myspace, not many people have facebook or other blog sites.

Well, usually the blog/networking sites I've come up with let you edit your profile with CSS, but I'm not sure if you could actually call that a "layout".

It's a community effort - we got to get other people besides designers interested, and we would have to aggressively advertise - but it comes down to designers who can contribute layouts to bring the people here.

hi,

as mentioned above, i dont think its a good idea to support every kind of blogging / social networking sites out there, as there are... literally thousands. i periodically review other blogging / social networking sites to include to createblog.com. and if they are popular enough, theyll be included. =)
