I love how regardless of the topic, people like you can match anything to being the president's fault. There are many factors affecting the American education, such as the will to learn, television, the internet, and many other things. I doubt the president is at blame for this too.

I'm going to start a fun fad and blame everything on global warming. Its not like its different from anything else we do.

I'm not associating the president with our educational problems, at all.

I was just stating the fact that most countries think of him / us as being idiots.

Asian parents just push harder and expect more then alot of other parents. But, not all asians are smart. I mean I'm chinese myself, but during 8th grade when i took math A, I was like seriously the stupidest in my whole class. I got like 60's and 50's and 70's on all my tests and quizzes. I even failed my first marking period.

I heard Japanese people really put a lot of effort into whatever they do.

ok...if you dont know, asian's are not naturally smart, they work hard for it. they aren't lazy like the other races and asians in america are probably smart because their parents force them to study because the parents probably had harsh childhoods growing up in some country in asian living in the ghettos and they would take every advantage to give their children better lives. other than that, when asian babies are born, doctors insert some kind of drugs in the baby's brain, some kind of brain steroids. yayz

Though, Asian parents do indeed push there kids hard. Like 80% of the Honors classes in my school are made up of Asians.

Yes they do, and if they fail at school. Well, lets just say the suicide rate in Japan during late April is pretty high.

Wow, while here I don't give a rat's ass about my grades, people in Japan are commiting suicide for failing.

Well, Asian parents tend to value education more than other races do. In my parent's opinion, it's the only way to make a life "successful".

Actually, if they dont get into a good university, then they suicide. I worded it poorly before.

I just think were pushed more..My grandma is japanese and my dad is of course and well my dad always got straight A's although he slept in class and only took tests and still got a's 0_o but they always expect more out of you then other people..

Asians are normal just like everyone else.
Its just a matter of who wants what in life and whos going to acomplish it

why are asians so smart?? because their parents are so strict and cares a lot about their kids' education, and they send him/her to so many summer schools, give them private subject lessons and stuff to make their children better unlike white parents who could care less about their children academic-wise .. that's why almost every asian girl in my school are smart ..

What the heck? Race doesnt matter. I think each race is basically equal. White parents care just as much as any other race. I think Americans are more laid back about it, but still. I go to a private school, and 95% of the kids are white. Now, that doesnt mean that parents of other races dont care about their education, but it shows that white people do.

Just like everyone else is saying, Asian parents just push their kids a heck of alot more. Not because they care more than parents of other races. But yeah, Asians do make the highest scores on the SAT's and stuff.
