So what's your recap of your createblog experience thus far? When and why did you join? What persuaded you to stay? What were some of your most memorable moments? Etc, etc.


As for me, I joined createblog on March 2004 in search of xanga layouts and help. my old username was Ethixfantazia, which was derived from my xanga. It had no inherit meaning since I chose it because I thought it was a nifty name. I didn't actually go active for an entire summer until around August, when I found myself stumbling into createblog chat. I think the chat is what persuaded me to stay on this forum. I've met so many interesting people who've come and left, and maybe came back.

I joined createBlog/Xangans back in my Xanga days. Harr. I wanted to find a layout, Googled it, and voila - Xangans. The people were fun. I miss them. Kristine.. Steve.. Jordan.. CJ.. I will miss them. I distinctly remember Seon Ho being really mean to me when I was a noob and asking some dumb question regarding a script. Haha. I recently went through my old posts.. I can't believe I typed in complete sentences even then. Shocked me, really. ^ See, I liked the chat, but now it kind of irks me, no offense. There's too many people. I like it when there's only about five or so. So anywho I stayed because I wanted to get better at making layouts. I got Yemi (I miss her, too) to send me PhotoShop through the mail (yes, because I had dial-up; still do) and learned on my own, with the help of these wonderful tutorials here. Oh gosh. I remember when I was promoted. There weren't really rules or anything for getting modded and whatnot, so I PMed Jusun, asking him what it took to be on Staff, and he just modded me. I felt special. Then I remember when I got to be Head Staff and I reorganized all the Scripts by myself for the most part. Oh gosh. That took forever. I remember calling everyone.. Nick.. I spoke to Elba once I think.. Kim! Jose.. Wow. I came back recently because I missed it sort of and MySpace got boring. This is really long. No one's going to read this all.

I joined CB over two years ago and when I first joined, I made a lot of really good friends. We were all really close - closer than I was with my IRL friends. It was really cool. I hadn't done any webdesign when I joined, but the more I was on the forum, the more interested and proficient I became, and I would say that I'm fairly good now. Most of what I do today is based on my influences from Createblog.

So what's your recap of your createblog experience thus far? When and why did you join? What persuaded you to stay? What were some of your most memorable moments? Etc, etc.

I joined September 2005. A little less than two months before in July on a random summer day I was invited in the chat by someone I used to talk to in Xanga Music Chat and I just kept coming back. Everybody used to talk about the CB forum and stuff and I always felt left out so I eventually joined Dynasty. When that died out I finally joined Createblog and posted sometimes. Since then it's gotten more boring and I actually left once for a couple months, but I got bored and thought I'd make a couple posts and actually ended up coming back. Through the forums and chat I've come to meet so many interesting and cool people.

I joined March of 2004, though didn't become active until around July.

The reason I found CreateBlog was because I was looking for xanga skins. Though I joined not because of xanga skins, but I came into the Communit Center and saw really interesting people, and so I figured why not try something new. Like Hezron the chat has persuaded me to stay in the forums. There are many people I've met along the way, some still here, some left, some which came back, some that "died". I guess I got addicted now I can't make myself leave, though I separate real life and this virtual reality world...

i joined in november of 2005 under the username "chococat15." how i found cb? i was looking through a codes site on xanga and noticed that most of them started with "<----begin createblog.com code---->" or something like that. so i got curious and went to the site. and.....well, here i am!

i joined because i liked the layouts and i wanted to be um....cool

I don't remember how I found out about createblog either, but, I love it here. I probably found the link somewhere on xanga - probably looking for layouts.

This site inspired me to get more involved in web design & blogging & graphic making.

In November 04, back in my Xanga days, I asked my friend where she got her layouts. She then gave me a link to createblog. I lurked for about a month, and joined in December. I learned how to make layouts, and stuff. Blah. My oldest username shall be um. unknown. :] I abandoned that username and then made a new one (xlilazngrl592x) in about.. February? I forgot. I started posting about then. Then, I found the chat. I went in and I just kept coming back. I met a whole bunch of people, yada yada yada. I guess that's the reason why I stayed. Then I thought my username was n00bish so I made this one and yeah here I am typing this.

I first learned about this site when a friend was asking me which layout she should use for her xanga.

I later got into making layouts, and remembered this site. I came here to gather ideas, submit my layouts, and learn a few new tricks. This was all under 'The_AZN_Godfather.'
Yeah. That was me. Ha ha, some people said they didn't really like that guy.

Anyway, I later looked around the forum and even started posting around. It kind of got boring after awhile though, and stopped posting for awhile.
I later decided to get a new username and started posting a bit. I was going to leave cB, but then I came across cB Chat, and met some pretty interesting people there.

So, I guess cB Chat is what kept me here.

I joined in feb. 2004 and like most people, I came to createblog for the skins. Jose was actually the first person I really talked to on here and that akadoggy guy. I don't remember his name, but he helped me a lot with skins. I started to make my own skins they weren't very good but they got accepted anyway. Through looking at other peoples sites, and asking questions (especially brit, she is a huuuggee one) I eventually got better. I submitted a lot of xanga skins as well as blogger, and I got moved to blogger staff. I became close friends with most of the mods (I miss you guys) and I bounced around between xanga, blogger and people staff. I stepped down in the fall of 2005 due to major personal reasons and I stopped createblog for awhile. I came back though, it's so hard to stay away!

I joined January 05. My reasons are for my xanga. Went active summer 05. The first person I talked to was Suzzette, came Sayuri, then Kevin. and so on and so forth. First person I talked to on the phone was Nick. I stayed because I was bored. Everyone was fun and so many people from so many different places.

Hmm.. I joined in June 2005 after having made a handful of Livejournal layouts. I remember searching for "livejournal layouts" on Google and cB was the first result, so I came and it just happened to be what I was looking for. For a while, I was basically just submitting layouts and not really posting, but I did post a bit in LJ help and in the graphics forums.. Around November, I started to get really active, but still not enough. I never wandered out of LJ help, so anyone who didn't go in there had no idea who I was. It was early December when I was nominated for LJ Staff, and I think my ppd was 1.2, which really shows how active I was at that time.

That was around the time I started going into the IRC channel, and I met some people (Jose, Sally, Anna, Radhika) who helped me venture out into the community center. Jose actually singlehandedly convinced me to make a post in the Lounge. That has to be the one thing I remember most about my "overall experience" because I had people IMing me telling me, "Come on Dani! Post! Post so I can close it, people are spamming!!"

Anyway, so then I started going into CBC and that's about where I am now. Of course, when I registered I didn't think for a moment that I'd end up being on staff. Now it's a fullblown addiction, I suppose.

i lurked at xangans in late january 2004, then i actually joined in early february, when i was 11. that was around when it was first getting started, and it was much quieter everywhere. plus it was back in the days of the regular layouts, cb day and cb night. anyway i hung around for a bit through the summer and all, and then i got modded in maybe late august? early september/october? not sure. sometime around then. i was people staff and i liked my job.

cbstaff revolution! woo. after a few months, jusun enabled reporting to mods, and the other mods closed more stuff than me so i got booted off.

after that i got sorta pissed and i joined dynasty and advertised the heck out of it. got warned and shit :D it was really fun though.

then i went away for 6, 7 months while cb was undergoing those huge changes in layout and people. came back in march 2006 back when spring break was just starting.

i live in cbchat still.

Haha. Jose can pretty much make anyone do anything. He has that tendency. Mmm LiveJournal layouts. I would assume cB was the first on Google because no one else really has/had them, right? I still never got the hang of that. I tried coding it before when I was into Blogger.. That didn't work out too well. Haha.

Joined in April 2004 but I wasn't really active then because I actually had a life. Summer was fun though, and I think I ventured into the chat for the first time recalling Anna being mean to me. A couple days after her 16th birthday, we found out that we went to the same school and talked to each other regularly. We stopped though. Uh, 2005 was okay, there was a lot of drama. Summer 05 was all about the chat and I stopped going in this year. I guess I've outgrown it. Made a lot of friendships through the years (yes...years..) and I distinctively remember being one of the younger cBers back then. I also remember when Seon Ho was nice.

And yeah, I've had my fair share of drama with numerous people.

I joined last year, I think May of 2005, just because I was looking for an xanga layout. I also wanted to learn how to use photoshop more. This site actually helped a lot with their tutorials. I decided to sign up & that's basically when everything took place. I always remembered I wanted to be known here, lol. I went into the chat and spent almost all day there. Haha, oh gosh. I was a member of that whole 'team late night' club. I stayed up every night until like 6 in the morning. I also remember this site getting 'hacked' and all that crazy drama. Oooh man, crazy. Haven't been on this site in awhile but I'm hopefully going to start posting again. :)

Didn't Anna sometimes recite your address in the chat? And I think I'm kind of getting bored of the chatroom myself. My membership on createblog was influenced on the chat activity since then, but now, I'm finding more and more reason just to leave.

mangg. i joined a LONG ASS time ago. my username was poisonedxivy. i came looking for xanga scripts. yeup. then i found a whole new group of friends. i believe jackie was my first friend and person i talked to on the phone. mangg~ i thought val (mireh) was the coolest. spring break andt he chat room. it was awesome. so many cool people. a lot of them still ghost around her, but a lot have left. i miss you guys. i should call them all soon. :[ cb had its share of drama too. and the yearbook and awards. hahaha. good times. i remember the MINI FANCLUB too. rawr~

Yeah hez, and my phone number too. And I always see you in the chat, but you never say anything. Ahhh last summer was crazy.. I remember that chat was the only thing I liked and went into. Then there was the eEverything. eBFF!

I remember first learning about cB from Kristin (iheartsimba) who back then, was a people staffer. :P I lurked around in late February 2004 but finally joined early March. Createblog used to be tons of fun back then but I never really joined chat. I was too nervous :O I guess you could say I was somewhat of a noob. But I eventually got to know people later on and they were all awesome =) I remember so much-- Cliff, Tal_Dara (Steve?), and Seon Ho in that silly fight thread or something in pictures, Seon Ho actually being nice on the forums, GinaDaQueen being admin, Trish and her twin, cB revolution, Cooters/Handball/Test Tickles Teammates, TLN, Early Bird, and all the other junk that happened. Good times.

And yeah, most layouts for livejournal are ON the site, in LJ communities and such. I didn't really want to join a community, I wanted an actual website.

I joined because I thought createblog was really helpful and fun.I stayed because I wanted to try to be better at graphics and become a mod one day!
