no, we need to start from the bottom up.

the main problem with soccer is a lack of youth.

we need good youth leagues, nationwide. Soccer needs to become a highly watched college sport.

basically, soccer needs to eclipse football.

then we can dominate.

its a double edged sword because in the short term the only way to become better quickly is for the talented youth to play in europe. we need more money if we want a successful major soccer league in america, and that is difficult because of soccer's rules - a 45 minute half with no interruptions, no commercials, no promotions .. that is why baseball, basketball, and football are so successful. also, the average MLS contract is like what? 50,000? and the MINIMUM nba contract for a 6 year veteran is like 1 million? which one would you rather play if you were a premere athlete?

in the USA i agree, we need soccer programs implemented in the inner cities, right now, soccer causes alot of money to play with traveling clubs and what not, thats why it is labeled as an suburban sport for affluent families as opposed to football and basketball. i dont think soccer will never eclipse football in the usa, that's why we need to establish ourself in europe where the players actually get paid nba money

Mexico vs Argentina next...

We all know who's the favorite here...BUT Mexico WILL NOT go down easy (if they go down at all). Mexico has played Argentina many times, and those recent times, the games have been REALLY close. I expect atleast a tie at the end of the 90 mins.

What's unique about us is that Mexico play at the opponent's level. If our opponent is a low-ranked team, we lower oursleves down to their level, if it's a high-ranked team (Argentina...), we play at their level. So don't expect a slaughter from Argentina here folks..

Supporting Mexico ALL THE WAY!

Mexico goes down beautifully....

As in pushed Argetnina to the LIMIT! Man was I right about the outcome!! I impress myself! I predicted a VERY close game, Mexico's playing level to rise up to Argentina's and a tied game after 90 mins...but yeah, my Mexico is out. I was really impress though. I think thus far, this is Mexico's best team. Hopefully in 2010 they can repeat and go ALOT farther than this year. Mexican fan till death!

But I guess it's time to tilt my hat to the alternative teams.
First on the list...

GO BRASIL!

Portugual vs. Netherlands is one of the craziest games I've ever seen...

The Dutch play dirty. *shakes head* That guy did not deserve a red card.
