hahaha I have a confession (._.!) I did try both but then again I smoked like twice in my life and I guess it had a calming effect on me. I was very philosophical at the end of *that* evening. lol But if u want to run no risk at all u shouldn't try anything addictive. According 2 the BBC there are people who can take coke a few times and not become addicted to it, whereas others try it once and they can't stop craving it. So you know what to do if you don't want problems you don't need. And remember kids 'crack is whack'

if i'm correct i don't think anyone ever died from smoking weed.

.....
.......
............tell that to my friends who have died in car accidents because of idiots that smoke and are high while driving, and the driver(s) who have died along with my friends.

And yes, cigarettes are worst than weed...the nicotine level is so much higher and impacts the lungs more than weed does...

I can go on and on about the comparison between the two...but I choose not to. It should be obvious.

QUOTE(dzbemark @ Sep 3 2005, 8:55 PM) *
umm well i've been smoking cigarettes 4 a little over a year now, and i cant seem to stop, and i've been smoking weed 4 over a year too...

i smoke about 1/2 a pack a day and im only 15
and i smoke about an ounce of weed every week

i was just curious and was wondering which do u think is worse smoking weed or cigarettes???

u guys are idiots have any of u guys heard of someone dying from smoking weed? ermm.gif

cigarrettes is a whole lot worse it

takes away your money
takes away your looks
and takes away your life

and u can get sooooo much dieases from cigareets like Lung,Neck,Throat etc. Cancer

plus there is 43 poisons in a cigarette

When a person smokes a cigarette, the body responds immediately to the chemical nicotine in the smoke. Nicotine causes a short-term increase in blood pressure, heart rate, and the flow of blood from the heart. It also causes the arteries to narrow. Carbon monoxide reduces the amount of oxygen the blood can carry. This, combined with the effects produced by nicotine, creates an imbalance in the demand for oxygen by the cells and the amount of oxygen the blood is able to supply.

It is now well documented that smoking can cause chronic lung disease, coronary heart disease, and stroke, as well as cancer of the lungs, larynx, esophagus, mouth, and bladder. In addition, smoking is known to contribute to cancer of the cervix, pancreas, and kidneys. Researchers have identified more than 40 chemicals in tobacco smoke that cause cancer in humans and animals. Smokeless tobacco and cigars also have deadly consequences, including lung, larynx, esophageal, and oral cancer. The harmful effects of smoking do not end with the smoker. Women who use tobacco during pregnancy are more likely to have adverse birth outcomes, including babies with low birth weight, which is linked with an increased risk of infant death and with a variety of infant health disorders. The health of nonsmokers is adversely affected by environmental tobacco smoke (ETS). Each year, exposure to ETS causes an estimated 3,000 non-smoking Americans to die of lung cancer and causes up to 300,000 children to suffer from lower respiratory-tract infections. Evidence also indicates that exposure to ETS increases the risk of coronary heart disease.

http://www.drugfree.org/Portal/Drug_Guide/Tobacco

and by the way weed is only illegal in most countries because it fcks with your behavior and moods n sh!t like that

also the THC in marijuana can help fight against some cancers and protects the brain from effects of stroke, other disorders

More recently, in just the last few months, new information has emerged from studies by federal researchers at the National Institutes of Mental Health. Their reports have stated that THC, the chief psychoactive compound found in marijuana, and cannabidiol (CBD), a nonpsychoactive component, both appear to protect brain cells from the damage that often occurs during a stroke. When the brain's blood supply is cut, as occurs during a stroke, THC and CBD act as powerful antioxidants, protecting the brain cells from exposure to toxic levels of the brain chemical called glutamate. This finding also indicates that marijuana may hold medical value in the treatment of brain injuries and diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

http://www.medmjscience.org/Pages/science/emerging.html

and some types of marijuana (medical marijuana) is used to stimulate appetite, relieve chronic pain, and treat asthma and migraines

BOTTOM LINE DONT EVER DO CIGARETTES!

yea def. agree. ^ cigs are nasty and gross and youre just asking to be ugly and die a painful cancerous death...but there are i guess some people that ciggarettes dont do anything harmful too but thats not very likely..
+try telling my entire school that weed is worse. its insane amounts of people smoking pot.i dont think its that bad once in a while at parties or whatever but smoking pot everyday is a little excessive dont you think?
majority of people who do drugs
do it for the image.. cause they think it makes then look cool/rebellious or w.e.
i dont knwo what kind of image theyre going for
a scumbag one?
try cutting down..make a countdown.like in your profile and each day you can add aanother day .. 1 day no cigs. 2 days no cigs.

Cigs are worse. Chemicals you ingest when smoking them. Weed is not addictive in the manner that cigs are. Of course neither is good for you - but really - what is good for us? Our cows are full of steroids which pollutes our milk - cheese- meat... you know I could go on and on.

Drop the cigs, smoke weed in moderation. By yourself, and ounce a week is a little excessive unless you are rolling fat blunts. Fat blunts are a waste. I know several people who smoke weed and they have never done anything "stupid" or "dangerous". There is far worse out there to do, even legal stuff. There is the memory thing with weed, but I would not worry too much about that as aluminum causes alzheimers. We can't escape everything.

i'm guessing weed is worse. you've got to be very careful with weed sometimes it can be laced with other stuff without you knowing and can become WAY more addicting. that's what happened to my friend's uncle. my advice: get help.

Um. I guess weed is worse but you deffinately need help. You are my age and I know what peer pressure can be like. I don't know if that is how you got started but I'm guessing it was something of the sort. Get help. You need to. Cigarette smoking is not illegal but weed is. Getting help is what you need trust me. I have lost many friends to drugs and although I do not know you I feel you really need help. Just a concerned fellow.

QUOTE(mipadi @ Sep 4 2005, 3:04 PM) *
No one has died from smoking weed in the same sense that no one has died from smoking cigarettes--meaning that no one has overdosed on either cigarettes or marijuana. Marijuana is, in fact, roughly ten times as carcinogenic as cigarettes, mainly due to the fact that cigarettes are filtered, whereas marijuana pipes/joints aren't; however, smoking cigarettes causes more cancer because, generally speaking, people don't smoke marijuana nearly as much as they smoke cigarettes.

^ yeah i agree. thats what i learned in health. _dry.gif so i perferr ciggs. if i have to choose. but either way SMOKING is bad enough. so i think you should do NONE ! happy.gif but its all you. goodluck though!

Wow, your smoking status is just about identical to mine. And I'm 15 too. But yeah, I know they're both bad... cigarettes are way more harmful than marijuana, with all that nicotine. And what concerns me the most, is that I used to be such an athlete, but now I'm pretty much the slowest girl when we run laps in P.E, haha. How sad.

And my mom keeps on telling me I'm short because I smoke.

Yes, there is no nicotine contained in weed. The only way to get addicted to it is the mental high.

I think that there both Harmful and if your finding it hard to quit maybe you should go speak to someone about it and they can offer you help and were to go get help..but smoking can cause bad side effects in the long run such as cancer etc.
