Have you ever read a book and thought that it would be a great movie? List some books that you think will be a great movie...

The Truth About Forever By: Sarah Dessen I love this book and when ever I read it I would picture it in my head as a movie.
The Outsiders By:SE Hinton Yes, I know that this already became a movie. But I would love to see or make a modern version of it. I thought of this because I hated the movie because of all the parts it was missing.

A Clockwork Orange
Naked Lunch
Fight Club
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Comic to film?

SLC Punk
Ghost World
Sin City

I always thought Snow Crash would make a great movie. It was originally written as a graphic novel, so it definitely reads more like a script than a traditional novel.

SLC Punk

[randomspam] ohmy.gif I love SLC Punk. Definently one of my favorite movies! [/endrandomspam]

To be girly and whatnot, I believe that the Gossip Girl series would make for some good movies! They don't even need to make seperate movies for all the books, do a combo <3

Cats Eye and The Joy Luck Club. Both books have amazing imagery. I know The Joy Luck Club was made into a movie, but I don't remember seeing it.

Joy Luck Club was a great movie, one of my favorites in fact.

The Coldest Winter Ever would make a great movie. I've heard talks about it being made into one.

Ones that would be made into a good movie...

Even though I read it years ago I think in Jr. High so it may have been a kid's book or young reader's book, I think Song Of The Buffalo boy would make a good movie. I can' remember much GREAT books I read, or any that would make a great movie, I guess I'll just have to start reading some.

This is kinda off-topic, since I don't really like the book, but I heard Eragon is being made into a movie.

A Beautiful Mind was definetly good.
as for others.. I'm not really sure, but most of the time the plot gets ruined or changed too much from the book...

From the books I have read that are made into movies, I've been disappointed. I've yet to see a movie where I read the book beforehand and still thought the movie was a good adaptation of the book.

Brave New World would probably make a good movie, with the right people. I would probably be very selective in who would do it. Can't put it in the wrong hands...

James, read the comic!

I think "A Long Way Down" by Nick Hornby would be a pretty cool movie.. I love it.

Dancer would make a really good movie, as well as Tithe. If you haven't read them go read them, they are amazing.

I hate books turned movies, they rarely get it right

It has been tackled several times as a made-for-TV-movie. Bad news, I'm sure. XD.gif

The only thing I hate about that is that if you've read the book and go see the movie, you know exactly what happens and how things turn out in the end.

It's the same if you see a movie then read the book except there are more details in the book.

I mostly hate book adaption movies, where the book is turned into a movie. I don't know why but it makes me mad, when they skip things, and add things that haven't happened in the story or just plain changed the plot. I would like to see "The Rescue" by Nicholas Sparks into a movie. I think the same people who did "The Notebook" should do "The Rescue" because I liked both movie and book for "The Notebook" which is rare because most of the time I perfer book over book-into-movie.
