Does anyone have this?
I'm pretty sure I have it. I will not rest easy if certain things aren't a certain way.

i have OCD when it comes to my nails. i put on nail polish and when/if if gets messed up or i don't like how it looks, i take it off. and redo it. and again. and again. and again until i get bored.
i'm pretty much a perfectionist when it comes to projects, which is strange because i do everything at the last minute. and cleaning. i try not to clean anything because when i do, i have to like clean the whole house and everything has to be perfect. which is why my room is always really messy or really clean. i've seen people who have OCD really bad. like they clean their hands constantly or turn the lights on and off a lot. it's like they have to do something several times until they get it perfect. |

OCD isn't something you can diagnose yourself with. It has to be professionally diagnosed and treated. It's a serious illness. Just because you're a bit anal about something doesn't mean you have OCD.

Just because you're a bit anal about something doesn't mean you have OCD. Well, that's very true. But it could be possible. Like it's just I'm pretty sure that the feeling of emotion well-being is different. Like I don't do these things, I'm really edgy. |

Just because you're a bit anal about something doesn't mean you have OCD. calm down, jeez. i don't think these people were seriously diagnosing themselves about having the disease, and i don't think they were talking about it in a disrespectful way. They're just using it as a way to describe how anal they are about something. *anyway* I'm totally anal/ocd when it comes to germs on food/ public restrooms/ door handles/ telephones. Also: when i'm trying to fall asleep, there can be NO LIGHT in the room. (you know how some radios have little buttons that light up? yea, i put stickers over mine.) also: when i'm trying to fall asleep, there has to be absolute silence and/or my air purifyer has to be on to make a constant, low hum that covers up any noise. |

^ Sorry. I've been diagnosed with a couple of mental disorders, and I turn into a psychopath when people at school are like, "I totally have OCD!" or "I totally have ADD!" and they think it's so funny and that's it's a joking matter, but it's seriously horrible. I'm not taking 5 pills a day for nothing.

things sitting on a table must not be in contact with one another.
you know those old school rhymes about "step on a crack, break you momma's back" or whatever? i'm not worried about breaking my mother's back (anymore) but stepping on a crack on a floor makes me incredibly nauseas until I sit and calm down. patterns are my downfall. if i see a pattern in a picture or anywhere, i have to follow it with my eyes until i'm able to distract myself from it. getting stuck. that's what it's called. but if i touch something wrong, i almsot physically get stuck, where i can't move for a minute or so. more patterns being numbers. if i see a phone number or an address, i have to find some way to make all the numbers correlate with one another. also, if i get a snippet of a song stuck in my head, i start to count with it, and i count forever... or until i forget which number comes next, or manage to switch songs. and there's probably more, but it's mostly difficult to explain stuff. not like the above was easy, but i'm sure you understand. |

I'd have to come up with an equation for all the numbers, and I didn't like times that didn't work out well like that. I have the same issue with the volume of a TV: I always have to have the volume set to an even number or a multiple of 5. |

^ That's funny. And extremely cute for some reason, I don't know why. I don't have many symptoms of OCD, but sometimes I'll get this intense urge where I have to tap my pinky or ring finger on a button or key for extended periods of time. It really sucks because I'll be in the middle of something, like a computer game and I'll get the urge and just start tapping and lose. I try to ignore it, but I get all sweaty and anxious.
And I'm like deathly afraid of dark water with huge fish in it. Even illustrations make me scream and my heart leap. I nearly fainted once when I was in the ocean and I saw a catfish. I screamed and started climbing on my mom. |

I'm not taking 5 pills a day for nothing. I know what you mean. That's why I hate it when people are like, "omfgzz I have a stalker!!" Stalking is NOT when some guy who likes you seems to follow you around in school. You both go to the same school, you're bound to see each other. I know what stalking is and that is definitely not it. I just have little things, nothing serious. I eat candy in colored pairs, sometimes I just have to roll the back of my hand on cold/cool surfaces like a desk or the metal thing that supports the desk, the wall, etc and I always quickly tap doorknobs before I open them (it's because I'm incredibly afraid of getting shocked). I also have a thing with washing my hands, I do that a lot...sometimes before I use the bathroom then afterwards. I've seen the True Life episode about OCD on MTV, it's scary... |

after mtv covered this topic
i think everyone is just paranoid.. and believe that they have OCD I mean i don't have OCD and i floss my teeth almost constantly. I'm a perfectionist and have to have everything organized. I can't go to sleep at night unless my bed has been made for that day. and if it isn't when i go to sleep I'll make my bed and then get in it after i think it looks good. I can't have many things on my bedroom floor or i can go to sleep at night or even go in my room because i'll feel very uncomfortable.. short of breathing.. claustrophobic i guess as well. |

Hmm, I've never told this to anyone, but whenever someone says a word or something, (and it's really random), I'll just start spelling it out. Over and over again. Until I can find a way to distract myself from it. And, it can be any word, long or short. But I am always spelling it out.

I never really thought of myself as being OCD. But I definetly would concider the things I do a problem.
Yes, I can't relax unless the door is closed, in whatever room I'm in, and everything has to be put a certain way or... uhm.. this is gonna sound really weird but - or else I think something bad is going to happen to me. I don't know what. But it's just a weird feeling. I'm a tidy freak x10. A perfectionist at everything I do. |

If you haven't been diagnosed by a certified psychiatrist..
OCD is an anxiety disorder, it's not just being a neat freak. |

I had severe OCD for two years.
These things are definitely a sign that you are an anxious person, but many of us are. However, it's more than just being anxious if you have OCD. What do you DO if your fan is off? THAT's the question. If it feels like it's "hanging over your head" to turn the fan on, like you can't stop thinking about the fact that the fan's off and it's driving you absoloutely insane, THEN you might want to see a doctor. It seems like you might be an anxious person, but none of those are common symptoms for OCD. There are lists of common symptoms online, but most of them are things like having to step on things/touch objects certain numbers of times, or equal numbers of times with each hand. Things that normal people wouldn't think about, but because people with OCD are more anxious... Yeah. PLEASE PM me if you have more questions-- I'd love to help. that's another of mine, but the oppisote. the number has to be odd and can not end in 5... Yeah- this one's definitely an OCD symptom- lots of stuff with numbers.... (Sorry to double-post) |

I think I might have OCD. Maybe, i should get tested. When ever I learn about dieases and sicknesses. I freak out and wonder if I have it. Like when I learned crabs can be transmitted from infected towels, blankets and bedding, i couldn't sleep and stayed up till 3:30 in the morning and then all day, I wondered and checked for symptoms. I have thing where I just get parnoid about sicknesses. I am still parnoid, if I dont have ocd. It's sad.... My current obsession with not getting is STDs or STIs that dont have to be transmitted through sex like crabs.... I am freaking out as I type. I am a very sad person...I am never ever going to not freak out...

I don't think i have OCD but that definately applies to me. Whenever I'm at a stoplight (for example) I HAVE to press the button that alerts the lights to know that you want to cross (whatever it's called..) an equal amount of times. It's just weird if I don't. But otherwise, I don't really care much about the door being open or closed (though i prefer closed) or if my closet is open or closed. |

I'm OC with cleaning and organizing.
I wash my hands so much. I remember I hated when I had to do it during school. If I felt that my hands were dirty or if I had germs on my hands I would get excused to go to the restroom just to wash my hands. If I didn't then I could'nt stop thinking about how I need to wash my hands and I get this uncomfortable feeling. Nothing can be on my bedroom floor and god forbid anything in my room be out of place. |
