Yeah.. I was just foolin around with vexel.net tutorials and I learned this vexel technique for PS7. I used one of the images from the Vector/Vexel Contest. Still thinking if I should enter. Ah I dunno.. Well this is how it looks so far..

Oh I LOVE what you have so far (the edit). Those lips are amazingly realistic as are the eyes. I can't wait to see more of your progress.

I don't know why, but I tend to like vectors with fewer layers. It just seems... cleaner to me. I think you are doing a fantastic job, and I can't wait to see more!

Okay thanks guys....

For the record this type of vexel is not supposed to be "smooth".. its not a vector..im not supposed to have a GAZILLION layers.. so if its choppy its only cause its supposed to be that way.. At first I was following this tutorial: Jader's World

Then I tried to make it a little less choppy.. I didnt use the pen tool most of the time... Usually I used the polygon tool. I only used the pen tool on the eyes, lips and the outline of the nose, hands and head. See, I told you guys from the beginning..It's not meant to be DETAILED like crazy.. It's meant to be the way it is.. I would love to exaggerate but I'm still a newbie at this. whistling.gif

Thanks for the comments and suggestions though.. I will update soon..

Vexels are actually supposed to be as smooth as vectors- the only difference is that they're not made in flash. If you used the pen tool, it would look much smoother. Learning how to use it would make it look much better (that's just my opinion, however).

...::sigh::...

I know how to use it.. I was just tryin out that tutorial... _dry.gif ..Don't worry..One day I shall make an actual VECTOR/VEXEL to using the pen tool...

But when I mean this is isn't a vector, I mean that its not that detailed.. The only choppyness is the skin..Thats about it and maybe the shirt..but the eyes, the lips...I used the pen tool..

This is my second time attempting this.. I'm used to Paint Shop Pro.. But I just started using Photoshop.. That's the other thing.. mellow.gif

STROKE PATH! The easiest way to do hair.

But it's coming along quite well. I mean, I haven't even started on mine.

I think it looks really nice.. I mean, I've seen people go VERY wrong with overly detailed stuff, and this just looks clean and simple. The lips and eyes are great, and the skin looks really smooth while still being shaded in some places. I think it'll look really good when you have the hair finished. :)
