I don't even think fifteen would be a good time...there's plenty of idiotic fifteen year-olds running around. And the ones that would vote would have no idea what they're voting for. As if there aren't idiotic 18 and even 56 year olds running around? A politician's best friend is an ignorant voter. Funny thing, most voters seem to be a politician's best friend. Plus, the argument that a level of "stupidity" should dictate whether or not one has a right to vote is very hard to make given that we live in a democratic republic. Plus, in this context, it's just agism. I have met plenty of 15 year old who I think would be more competent voters than 18 and up, and vice versa. |

I voted 16 without putting alot of thought into it but now I'd say 20 or 21.
It really depends on how involved the voter is with the government. |

Ok, there's a reason why the voting age isn't 13 or 14.. Most people at those ages don't really have an idea of MOST things, not to mention politics - it would be a really, really, really bad idea if people under 18 voted. I'm 17, and most people my age don't even know who Canada's prime minister is. They had NO idea we had elections just a few months ago. Hell, they don't even know what the difference between Liberal and Conservative is!
So it should not be under 18.. no. Taylor`` |

How many 13 or 14 year olds do you know are involved in what's going on? Sure, maybe a hell of a lot of 18 year olds don't know what's going either, but it's a good age to start paying attention. |

I stand by my opinion.. it would be a stupid idea to lower the voting age. Very, very stupid. Taylor`` |
