Also, in a week or so, we will be holding a contest to redesign CreateBlog's look, since many mentioned that CB3 looks rather cold. The contest will be held for around a month, and the winning designer will recieve a free iPod nano or the new Motorola Slvr. More details to come later, but for those who want a headstart, the layout must be compatible with resolutions 800x600 and above. If you know friends who are talented in web designing, let them know! =)

What do you think cB should change?
I think its should be aligned in the center.

I want it to be centered, too. I'm guessing the whole site is gonna be changed? I'm not sure.

i wouldnt say its v4 yet. maybe 3.1 =p

some more info on this contest. the submitted layout must have four sections: home page, layout browse page, script browse page, and a download page. (all other pages are derivatives of these pages.) must include all the features already present. may include things you see in the "download" page but currently not in the "browse" page. for example, you may include the view + fav count. for hte home page, may want to include something where the community competes to get theirs to display. for example, for cb2, it was the banner. it doesnt neccessarily have to be a banner.

ill make the official post in a couple of days. in teh mean time, join the freakin' topsite! =p

I've sort of got use to the links being underlined, but I don't know.
What do you think? Underlined links stay or go?

Hover links! wacko.gif

EDIT//
Wait, my post didn't make sense. mellow.gif I meant underline on hover links and no underline on regular.

div layouts are okay. underline links are okay. hover links are okay. everythings okay. cb3 codebase is separate from the design, so implementing the new design should be easy.

you dont have to redesign the forums.

i thought this home page was really snazzy.

http://burstmedia.com/

may better navigation system, but we could have members submit that big image. how nice. =)

What about a...team of people...
Cause I know I'm much more proficient in the actual designing and not so much in coding...but some people are like, ubercoders and not so hot in designing...

^Doesn't CB have a design staff? Why not ask them to collaborate?

I agree with Sammi, I don't think just the design staff should do it, this should be a community effort --I mean more than just the mods, some official designers and official members would do go. happy.gif

Btw, its a layout for cB, not a layout being submitted to cB. so how you going to add it on your favorites? stubborn.gif

Jusun, would you want the frontpage coded? I don't think I'm going to do this... but I was just wondering.

i think I'll try doing one of the pages. the home page is going to be a competition, because thats the page that first comes up when you go to createblog.com. Rachael is doing that? I'll try doing it also maybe.
