i have.. a problem.
i can't gain weight. no matter what.

i've tried eating more junk food, and i've stayed about 85ish pounds since like, the 4th grade.

And i've noticed i've been eating a lot less. i dont have an appetite a lot anymore.

my mom says it's nothing. i think i'm underweight based on my BMI and stuff, but she says i'm not. mellow.gif i do not believe her.

do you have any suggestions on what to do to gain weight heathily?

It's not healthy if you eat a lot of junk food. :( Just eat a lot of healthy foods.

Tobyyyyyy, I always thought you were 16-ish.
I remember there was a meal plan on Seventeen.com that helps you gain weight...

Yeah, don't eat so much junk food its unhealthy...just eat more calories from healthier food and don't burn more than you eat, so make sure to eat more than you active if that makes sense.
I wouldn't worry too much though, you're only 12. Over the next few years, you will bulk up.

I want to slap you. In the nicest way possible. DO you have any idea what I would have given to be skinny as a kid? Geez. Look, love it while it lasts. Before your behind expands and you get fat in weird places like your armpits and your kneecaps. Its a great blessing to be s thin girl in this day and age. Everyone seems to be dieting to look like twigs, and you don't have to be unhealthy. In fact stop eating junk food because skinny girls with guts are very unattractive, and thats what will happen. Please eat healthy and stay active so that when you grow to appreciate your thin body while all of your girlfriends are dealing with rolls and plus size clothes, you will still have it. You are going to be glad you did, especially because statistically people pay more positive attention to skinny people because they are plastered everywhere we look. Just eat some broccoli and some chicken and exercise. If you don't like being skinny, work out (push ups and sit ups and stretching) and gain a little bit of lean muscle mass. Nothing looks better than a slender toned person. AND BE GRATEFUL!! I'd kill to be skinny.

hmm...well you should start off by planning out more of a healthy meal. junk food isn't good for you. you should just eat a big breakfast, lunch, and dinner. i mean go to your doctor or something so he/she can suggest the right about of cals and such you're supposed to eat each day. i do believe they can do that. and if you still can't gain weight then maybe you're supposed to be naturally small...i mean after all you are only 12. just don't worry about it too much. wink.gif

Eat lots of bananas! And drink milk! And eat spinach!

Actually, I really have no idea. I haven't gained weight either. I'm still 92 pounds.

I've been 92 pounds for about a year and a half.

i have the same problem. ive been under 100 for my whole life and i cannot gain weight. its because of your metabolism is fast. if you want to gain weight, then eat foods that have fat. and dont excersize to burn off calories. but you have to bcareful because fatty foods = clogged arteries. and you can die from that.

Exercise and get more muscles from it. Muscle weights more than fat.

Yup. Like others said, you have a fast metabolism. If you'd like, you can ask your doctor to refer you to a dietician that can help you gain weight health[ful]ly.

Work out...muscles weigh more than fat. HOWEVER, don't think that weight's all that matters...just as long as you're not getting any health problems regarding it.
