Yeah. I did. It's similar to A Million Little Pieces.. by it being a fraud. (Well well, isn't it about drugs too?) But yeah. ermm.gif

If Go Ask Alice was real, the teen has a good vocabulary....

and um, yeah. There were stuff that seemed surreal about the teen. Like.. who goes to the library to check out the drugs they just did? Blah.

More like, who spends extended periods of time writing a vivid description of those drugs that they just took as opposed to spending more time on writing about your crush and other gossip oriented teenage things.

Simply by reading it, we should be able to tell that it isn't real.
Vocab, yeah. Heh heh.

I read "Go Ask Alice" for health class. It was interesting. Very sad ending tho. There is even a song about this book. I remember the lyrics "you can't go ask Alice anymore" being in it. Which makes the book even sadder.

Well that was in 9th grade and I'm a Freshman in college now so my mind is a bit rusty. But I think it was for something like, what kind of destruction can happen to a person by doing drugs.

I've read Go Ask Alice a few months ago, and it was pretty interesting. I thought the ending was freaky because after her life was back to normal, she was found dead. It still confuses me.

no matter what anyone says i absolutely love these books! They are some of my favorites and are also the kind of books I'm drawn too.

EDIT

Just because we read your post (which i didn't, just skimmed <being honest>) doesn't mean you changed our minds. You don't have that much of a power over us. Get over yourself.

I didn't think I had power of you; I thought reason might have. _dry.gif
Plus, no one can change anyones mind. Ultimately, only and individual can make that personal choice.
Also, you didn't even read the post. So...?
I mean, you might want to read it if you're gonna snap back like this. Maybe if you did read it, you might change your mind. And, at the same time, you may not even understand what I am saying because you havn't read the argument. wacko.gif

But...

Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't have assumed that you might have been reasonable and rational individuals that are capable of being pliable and intellectualy honest.

Yeah, you're right. Despite overwhelming evidence, it is the true diary of a 15 year old girl! And it's sooooooo good! So good! rolleyes.gif

Haha, in the beginning of the book (in small print, mind you.) It even states that the book is fiction.

I'm just saying. x)

Just logged into this blog. Thanks for being at least intrested.
My brother, Alden Barrett did leave a journal recounting the last 6 months of his life, along with poems, letters, a red Frisbee, a fringed-leather "stash pouch", and a few other items.
Beatrice Sparks did use 21 entries from Alden's journal to write "Jay's Journal". She fabricated 80% of "Jay's Journal", including any satanic rituals, cattle mutiation, drinking or bathing in blood, killing cats rituistically, levitating kitchen utensils, etc., which leads me to believe that her other works, such as "Go Ask Alice" were ficitionalized as well. On comparing "Jay's Journal" and "Go ask Alice" side by side, you can see the obvious writing style similarities. if you would like to see a copy of Alden's original journal you need to read my book, "a Place in the Sun: The Truth Behind Jay's Journal. Write me at apits_71@hotmail.com for more information.
