I remember those days. An oldie like me...wow. Haha.

I'm happy to hear about a cB3, and yet, a bit sad. This place has blown up so much, though. Of course it's going to change again.
Myspace. There's not really any use for a blog there, yet, they have one.
*

haha member #516! you joined when cb was barely one month old! pray tell me your experience here at cb!

QUOTE(Krunk_Muzik @ Feb 10 2006, 12:05 AM)
Yeah. It's like Xanga forced everyone to learn web designing skills, since everyone wanted to customized their Xanga page. Once everyone learned the basics, they moved on to bigger and better things.
*

hmm, thats interesting. id imagine the aesthetics came third, after the functionality and the community. if i can make a killer blog, yet it isnt functional, or no one will see/find it, what use is it to me?

QUOTE(DaTru KataLYST @ Feb 10 2006, 12:05 AM)
I think people find the established communities to be the typical scene while they want to be unique with their own domain and blog. It's how i felt back then.
*

which is very ironic, because im sure thats how myspace and xanga first started. trendsetters wanting something 'unique'. yet look at what they are now! you should read 'the tipping out' by gladwell. its a good read.

QUOTE(yo pusha @ Feb 10 2006, 12:06 AM)
word.

i really think that the entertainment forum needs to be divided into

- Music
- The Big Screen (TVs and Movies)
- Misc
and all the interest subforums is NOT a good thing. especially "current events".. i see no reason why current events needs to be seperated from lounge... yall complain that the interests forum is dead, yet you add more and more forums to it..
*

i cant promise when, but one of these days ill take a serious look at the ofrums and come up with a better orginizational structure. but i cant say when, since after cb3, ill be working on a... well, even bigger project. =)

QUOTE(DaTru KataLYST @ Feb 10 2006, 12:08 AM)
I'm against the creation of subforums.  They spread the community and forum out too much.
*

that was my general idea too! but i guess must change with change. =)

Mods need to come up with a plan instead of just hacking off forums. It would become choatic. And difficult to manage the old threads.

QUOTE(yo pusha @ Feb 9 2006, 11:29 PM)
so look

i know a couple of people here post on this forum called niketalk (sup wayne, jonn, stephanie, angela).. it got about the same number of people as CB, but it looks much more active. why? because it only got three forums in its "community center".. General, Sports/Training, and Music..

this site niketalk, has a competitor called ISS. ISS got about 1/5th of the active participants niketalk has. why? because ISS got like a million forums. theres one called the "poll forum", one called the "flamethrower forum (where you post jokes), etc

createblog is turning into ISS.. as i said before we need to get rid of most of those forums in interests.. only forums i think are necesary in interests are Debate, Writing, Fashion, Sports, Technology.. everything else is just excessive

CREATEBLOG NEEDS TO GO ON THE LINDSEY LOHAN DIET. lets lose some forums!
*

BlogRing comes to mind. That site has so many forums and its so digustingly organized that there isn't much activity there and it's more boring than Nas' last album.

ohmy.gif ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

come on now, your sounding like a making a band 2 contestant, getting your similes all mixed up.. NAS last album was FIRE!! if it was condensed into 1 cd, and some wack tracks taken off.. i would say solid 4.5/5

here ill correct you.

more boring than Nas' last album is INCORRECT. Did you mean
more boring than Mase and Llyod Banks reading a long novel to you*?

How 'bout this...

Delete the subforums that lack activity (except for the writing forum), and organize entertainment.

Its a shame that quality topics in the entertainment forum get overshadowed by topics about celebrity gossip.

*Wasn't feelin' Nas' last album. It just didn't do it for me.

mmm.

i'd say put things like cars in with sports.

and stuff.

a merge pattern certainly could be found.

and yea, i think interests should go down to 4-5 forums.

(who needs food anyways? if you want to talk about food, you could go to a specialized food forum...)

(anime- could go into a subforumed entertainment under books and movies)(yes, seperate anime and manga)

yea...

someone go bring it up in feedback.

and i think we should be much more lenient on off-topicness. off-topicness is quite fun.

Seonho acted hella nice in the pioneering days!!

What an age that would be to live in.
*

Haha. Well initially he is very nice, but now acts "mean" to others. :P Man back in the day...

I should go look up those old topics whistling.gif Do you guys ever go through all the topics you made? Jut click on yoru username and click "find member's topics" :D

Time really flies... I'm almost at my 2 year anniversary with cB. Things have greatly changed, but I'm glad that there's still elements of cB thave have remained unchanged. :] Gosh I remember when I used to have all the time in the world for cB and I was online 24/7! Hahah

I believe only the older members know of this, but haha remember that dr3amer guy? Hahhaha :P PWNed. ;] Good times good times.

I'd have to say that despite all the drama (and how much of the frequent cB members seem to flock to it lol), after all of it being resolved, I think it really betters the community because it would be boring without it. I don't like drama in general, but if we were all one happy family, it would be slightly boring. I personally think that any controversies on cB, regardless of how minor they are, can always be somewhat relevant to life in general. :]

Hahah back in the day when I really wanted to be Official Member. Man... It's not fair... I still wanted to be Official Member. :[

heres how i would like to see the community center be formatted. cause look, we need active participants in order to have lots of forums, and right now we dont have many active participants.

- Introductions
- The Lounge
- Entertainment

... Music
... The Big Screen (TV, Movies)
... Misc
- Interests
... Debate
... Writing
... Fashion (lounge?)
... Technology (lounge?)
... Sports (entertainment?)
- Pictures
- Relationships
- Boys Locker
- Girls Locker

Actually, there's been a lot more activity in the anime forum.

anime got Topics: 382 ˇ Replies: 9,079
which is one of the least ammount in the interests section
compare that to Fashion or Debate or Writing, and its not even close

Yeah, I agree...I mean, createBlog is a BLOGGING community, not a food or car or sports community. We should really just focus on the blog aspect and some arts and off-topicness.

Actually, there's been a lot more activity in the anime forum. In fact, there is an extreme closeness for a lot of the people that post in there. If that forum were to be merged, we'd be sad otakus sad.gif

wow. that was a lot of pages to read. blink.gif

i like justin's idea about not just cutting away forums, but merging some of them somehow...
but i don't like the age division idea because that would create more divisions in the community and plenty of the people on here either act older or younger than their true age.
