On Yahoo! today they were advertising Pinks new video for her song "stupid girls" and I wanted to see who had seen and it what y'all thought about it.

ANYWAY~~

I think its hilarious. but it says some things too. Its making un of all your Lindsay Lohans, Jessica Simpsons and Paris Hiltons. and It really says a lot about being a female in this society, while still poking fun of what we see in the media. I think its great. Discuss.


And someone tell me if I can link to it, because I will if I'm allowed to.

^I had the same idea about her video. It's one of my favorites...just because I hate those certain group of female celebrities.

^Yeah... I don't exactly like Pink, but this video makes up for it.

That is not the point of the video. It is to expose who f**kin stupid our culture is. It doesn't matter if you like those celebrities or not.

thats very true. But it is pretty funny when you see the lyndsay lohan lookin chick run over those people. And the sex tape. But it does say a lot about our culture because these are the images we grow up with and we feel we are supposed to live up to. It sucks.

I didn't say that was the point of the video. I just liked it because it kind of makes fun of those girls....

i don't like pink anymore. when the video premiered on trl and the host, damien, asked her who was specifically being mocked in the video pink kept saying she was attacking the "idea" of stupid girls and not actual celebrites.

what a load of sh*t. she mocked specific events. she could at least own up to it but she didn't. she said all this crap about women empowerment and how stupid girls don't have anything to say. it's kind of like umm pink, how is this empowering women when you're making fun of your peers like that?

if pink has something meaningful to say, then she should really say it instead of using other celebritys' mishaps to get press and publicity. if she said "yeah i used lindsay lohan as an example and i believe she's a stupid girl because of etc etc" then maybe i wouldn't be so annoyed but i am because we all know she mocked them but for some reason she is denying it.

That video is great! It shows what supposedly a girl's standards are supposed to be. How you have to look or act in order to get attention...it's not all 'bout money, clothing, and all those other things.

it's a good message. and the jessica simpson boots part was funny. but i mean, just cuz a girl plays with dolls (at the end, the options) doesn't mean she's gonna turn into a bimbo

yea but it would probably create unnecessary drama. we all KNOW whose she's making fun of in the video, what's the point of saying it and creating more fuss? it'd probably be bolded in all articles.. "YEAH... I THINK LINDSAY LOHAN IS A STUPID GIRL..."

I think looks like Gwen Stefanie. But I don't think shes been in a video with 50 cent. If she had bigger hair I would think it was Beyonce and Jay-z in the Crazy in Love Video. I love beyonce but I hated that part. But I don't think so.

And I'm going to have to agree, it pokes fun at these girls and what they do, but I think it would have gone too far to say yeah I think so and so is stupid. They just do stupid things some times and the video says more than enough for that.

It hasn't been pink for ages. She just kept the name cause it would've been stupid to change her name to each colour of hair.

But in acctuality thats not even why she was called pink. Pink is always tied in with "girly girls" so it was her brother(i think) who started called her that as a nickname cause she's so not a girly girl.

I just made a post about this video on another forum site. Its really great! Funny yet it has a message. Her parodies of Jessica Simpson and Paris Hilton were great! The song itself though isn't all that good. Its okay but not as unique as her other stuff.



Well firstly, most people who watch TRL daily or other music channels are most likely going to know(or know somebody who does know) which girls she poking fun at. To state their names out loud would start bitchy drama and she doesn't want that. She's just using these massive public figures to get accross her message with proof. People respond more to facts than fantasy. But she did this all in a light-hearted way. Its almost like watching something on MadTV.

I love it.

It kind of irks me because those girls aren't necessarily stupid intelligently, or by the things they do.. Mary Kate Olsen? No. Lindsay Lohan? So she got in a car crash, she's not stupid. Paris Hilton? Sex tape. Get over it. Jessica Simpson? Hasn't it been stated that the "dumb blonde" persona she put on for Newlyweds was simply that? A persona?

All of those girls are more famous than Pink. I think she's just jealous.

Anyone who does a remake(I like to call it a crime) like the one Jessica Simpson did for "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" in my humble opinion is by far *the* dumbest blonde. This coming from someone who is a natural blonde, I know my people! lol

As for Paris Hilton, someone who can't give themselves a more popular phrase than the ages old "that's hot" is not going to Harvard Law.

Lindsay Lohan and Mary Kate Olsen was in reference to their "drug use"/"bulimia". Its never been proven exactly which they did but regardless. I think Pink is saying either one is being a "Stupid Girl".

I only saw part of this video and heard part of the song, but the part I saw sorta pissed me off. The way she was making fun of girls who starve themselves or make them throw up was disgusting. Girls who are anorexic or belemic aren't stupid, they have a psychological disorder, most likely caused by society. So if anyone is "stupid", it's society for shoving the idea that "skinny = beautiful" down these young girls' throats.

I dislike Pink. She annoys me. It seems like she's like "HEY look at me! I'm a noncomformist and I'm going to BITCH ABOUT THINGS because maybe then people will think I'm cool!" Yeah. Pink ... can go screw herself.

^ maybe watch it all and it might sink in. Pink is not attacking anorexia or belemia- Just trying to demonstrate that fans will emulate what they see, and there can be pressure to be a cookie-cutter image of someone you admire.. As you said, it is a mere *poke* at society.

I do think the video concept is better then the song lyrics itself though.

um if those girls weren't stupid, they wouldn't be getting those disorders. If they were really smart, they would've had a mind of their own.

Call me closed-minded but... I'd rather not waste my time watching that video. From what I saw, it's just Pink begging for attention and I've got better things to do.. like... waste my time on myspace and message boards, yes yes
