The Evil Dead, The Evil Dead 2, and possibly Army of Darkness.

Something makes me think that they aren't exactly the cult classic type. Heh heh.

Although, The Evil Dead may still be an option. As it has a handful of "jump" scenes, as well as a decent amount of creepy camera angles, music scores, and gore.

The originals or the remakes?

The original Dawn of the Dead is highly reccomended, I couldn't care less for the remake.

Rasen, trash. Ringu 2, eH. The US remake, pure trash. Avoid it like the plague.

Rose Red. Umm...yeah. Rose Red. It has lots of startling and exciting parts, but if people get bored they can walk away and come back to it. And theres still exciting things going on.

I suggest Hellraiser, Friday The 13th, Halloween, Black Christmas, The Thing, and The Evil Dead if you're looking for a healthy mix of creepiness and jump inducing scenes. They are all horror classics, but still real fun, real great horror flicks.

If you want something that focuses more so on the macabre and atmospheric horror I suggest Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Suspiria, The Blair Witch Project, Dark Water (The japanese original), Tetsuo The Iron Man, and Rosemary's Baby.

Aside from all those, you can always go with the "safe bet" that is The Ring.

Can't f*ck with The Exorcist 1973 Version

For the record, that was the only horror movie that gave me nightmares. On the real. mellow.gif
