I don't understand how over a 5.0 could even be possible. Hell, I don't understand how one could even manage that.

3.906..... 2 "A-"s argh... ONLY TWO! THE REST A's! Makes me so mad.

At my school, nothing is weighted, and A's are 96 - 100, A-'s 93-95, and B+ 89-92

It's pretty rough. One A minus and say goodbye to 4.0! Geez....

Right now, mine is probably a 3.1 or a 3.2. My Geometry grade is bringing me down. If I get a B or higher on my final, that will raise my grade up to a B and my GPA will be a 3.3 or a 3.4

That's crazy. I don't understand how an "A-" could not count as an A. We don't even look at things in terms of pluses and minuses: it's a 10 point system until you get to C's, where it's then 74-79, and 70-73 is a D, so 69 and below is failing.

Umm, I think I have a 3.3. I'm a slacker and I can't do math. Ugh.

Well, it's not quite an A. wink.gif It's a 3.66 on a 4.0 scale.

I still don't get that. I thought

A= 4
B= 3
C= 2
D= 1
F= 0

so why is there even a difference between an A- and an A? Shouldn't the minus only impact the numerical average?

An A- is something that is barely an A. Most 4.0 scales are something like this:

A = 4.0
A- = 3.66
B+ = 3.33
B = 3.0
B- = 2.66
C+ = 2.33
C = 2.0
C- = 1.66
D = 1.0
F = 0

(A lot of 4.0 scales don't have D+ and D-, although some do.)

Assuming an "A" is 92% - 100%, an A would then be 95% and above, and an A- is 92% - 94.99%—in the A range, but not quite high enough to be an A.

arghhh, I'm so confused now

I mean, I understand, but it's just thrown off everything I believed to be true.

I'm not concerned so much about what it will say on my transcript- I'm pretty sure my school does it how I thought- but should I be concerned that colleges will redo it that way? If so, this is really really really not good...
