PNG is a really good choice, as it doesn't result in the loss of image quality associated with JPEG.

Problem with PNG is that IE still lacks proper PNG transparency support. But I still use PNG while telling those who use IE to switch over to something else.

Shouldn't be an issue here—the original poster said he didn't want to save it as a GIF, which implies he is not dealing with transparency (as JPEG does not support transparency).

PNG takes a long time to load. It's still good with the quality.

I want to know what file type is good for loading process and great image quality, not very pixel.

I mostly use JPG and it's quite good if you are using a lot of colors, and like the basic colors are usually GIF.

No, it doesn't take long to load for JPG format.

If you're using photoshop, JPG is the best for small file sizes. But you have to be careful when optimizing, because JPG loses a lot of quality the farther down in file size you go.

File > Save For Web is what I usually use. If it has a lot of colors, I use JPG and if it only has a couple I use PNG.

Loading time depends on server load and connection rate. wink.gif PNG's load in about two seconds when the connections good and you've got cable internet/a T1 line. I've had JPG images that have taken a few minutes to load because of he server&image size (200+ pixels in height and width).
JPG is your best bet though if you want small filesize and quick loading.

Hah. Thanks. I'm using a good image server and cable. The issue is that ... it loads slowly in other connections.

I appreciate you guys and gals for the details. _smile.gif

Yes. JPEG is the acronym (it stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group); JPG or .jpg is the file extension (although .jpeg works on every platform except for ones that require a 3-letter extension such as DOS or Windows 3.1 and below).
