I just had a layout submission rejected, and I just wanted to know what is the point of becoming an Official Designer if your layouts get rejected. I mean, micron even states it in the "Become an official designer" thread, that all layouts are automatically accepted.

QUOTE(micron @ Mar 24 2005, 10:28 PM) forgot to mention this, the staff team reserves the right to remove any skin thats been accepted. not that theyre going to, they just have the right to. also, official designers are asked not to resubmit skins that were previously rejected before they became one. ^From the Official Designer thread in Announcements. Even though he said Staff won't be rejecting any, it won't always be the case. Although you're an Official Designer, it doesn't mean that you will always make great layouts. You can always PM back asking why it was rejected (if they remember it) as long as you're not rude/mad about it. We appreicate you submitting layouts to createBlog, so it's best to wait until we are allowed to send personalized PM's (which will be soon). |

That is quite so, but it says "already accepted." How can a layout be removed if it's already rejected?
Then there really isn't quite and incentive to become an official designer? Other than larger PM inbox and colored name when someone looks at the people viewing a topic. |

i think the entire thing makes perfect sense.
official designers don't have to wait for their layouts to be put through the queue (which i've been doing for the past 4 days, ,btw), which is plenty incentive in my opinion. moderators should have every right to clear out layouts they don't like, don't think meet the createblog standards, or are otherwise unacceptable. official designers shouldn't be above them in the sense that their layouts are accepted no matter what. woo! that made *very* little sense now that i've typed it out. but....in my head, it makes PERFECT sense. :] |

Can you rephrase the first part? I don't quite understand. If a layout has already been accepted, Design & Head Staff and Admins are able to reject it if they don't feel it's good enough. What do you mean by there not being much of an incentive? If one of your layouts has been rejected, it doesn't mean that you're a bad designer. As long as you follow the rules (located here) and make an at least decent layout, there's no reason why you should be disappointed. |

Hey, chin up - it happened to me - I accidentally submitted an animated one.
This is a good thing - think of it this way, it helps us do better. |

I mean, getting a layout submitted, accepted, then rejected is different from submitting and getting rejected. I mean there isn't an incentive for being an official designer if there is not a pull factor for becoming one. And no, this isn't the first time one of my layouts has been rejected. This has really become frustrating because I would submit layouts, and it seems the most random ones get accepted, and the same likewise for the rejected.

think of it this way.. just because you're kobe doesn't mean you're gonna have a off night..
now when you have a off night, do the coach say good job just because he's a superstar? i dont think so.. same with layouts.. you can be a official designer but that doesn't mean all your work will be top-notch top-quality material |

I'm not saying I don't enjoy making layouts, but there would be nice bonuses here and there, a sort of pull factor for someone to become an official designer. |

^ that was just an example to show that just because you're a official designer doesn't mean ALL your layouts should be accepted.. really how can you compare being a cb layout designer with being a nba superstar -_-
you should enjoy making layouts, if you dont enjoy it, dont make em.. i dont see anyone forcing you to make it and submit it second, you might not get paid as much or get the same recognition but you're just a cb designer, not a nba superstar but you do get benefits like official member status even without the ppd requirement, and a little recognition if a lot of people use your layout.. that should be good enough no? |
