NOW... my other friends are telling me to stop hanging out w/ him... its "bad for my image"  i said: "who the heck cares? this is high school... u guys wont have my back when we leave this school... but he will... so shove off!" or something like that... i was pissed

I know people who've keep their homosexuality a secret for a long time. But I accept them and help them through it.

We were born this way. God made us this way. If he wanted someone to be a guy or a girl he would have made that person one.

Edit: Don't get offended. Thats just my personal opionion. I grew up this way. Please don't take this the wrong way.

Yeah, and what exactly does "they're fun to be around" mean, anyway? It's not like homosexuals are fundamentally different from any other person.

^ I know what it means. I didnt imply I didnt. I just said it sounded mean.

I agree with Mipadi also. Why are they "fun to be around". Their sexual preference shouldnt really have anything to do with personality, in most cases.

I kinda agree with HolyMoly... but really, I was raised that way too.

I have nothing against homosexuals, though. And I treat them the way I treat those who are bi's and straight.

... Proof that homosexuals are seperated from human beings.

But yeah, if you're not a homosexual, don't go crazy about homosexual rights. Basically, what you're saying is, homosexuals are too stupid to fight for themselves, so I'm going to do it for them (says Russell Peters). And aren't there enough topics about this!?!?

^ Agreed again. Just to strengthen the point,if only homosexuals fought for gay rights, if only black, asian, latino, white, or any other race only fought against rcaism towards their race, and didnt care because they werent the other. what if everyone thought that way back during Martin Luther King Jrs. time ?

^ Martin Luther King Jr. was a BIG influence because he was speaking up for his own people. Name me one person that is active for gay rights that is gay and has done a lot for the society. I don't think anyone has made that big of an influence and I don't think anyone that's straight or bisexual will make an influence like Martin Luther King Jr.

People really need to back off and let homosexuals fight for themselves. I'm not against homosexuality. I really don't care. I'm just tired of people making such a big deal out of it. Such a big deal that people who aren't homosexuals are getting angry about it ...

Whatever floats his/her boat. Homosexuality has no affect on me whatsoever. I have several friends who are into same gender relationships.

if you feel as if he will be there for you, you did the right thing... it really does not matter what his sexual orientation is... as long as he is your friend.

and no, i dont think that homosexuality is wrong because everyone has the right to be happy and if their homosexuality makes them happy then its their choice not yours

Well I'm gay so I don't think it's wrong. Although there are the few gay guys who can't even deal with it. But good for you for standing up for your friend. So many people in your position would've just ditched him, regardless of personal feelings.

*Edited to add: I forgot to say, I accidentally(Yes! It was an accident) voted "yes" on the poll lol. laugh.gif

A lot of gay people would speak out but its a scary thing to do so. I'm sorry, but with black people, its there for everyone to see. Gay people can(and do) hide it. So many are afraid to fight if it means they'll have to come out. I know many people who honestly fear for their safety, even if they only let their parents know. So while I agree with you that more gay people need to stand up, I can also see why many won't.

I know a lot of homosexual or bisexual people. The only difference is their preferences in a relationship, and EVERYONE has differences in what they want in a relationship, so they shouldn't be discriminated against. Neither should you for being friends with one.

There are some people at my school who aren't ver nice to them, but for the most part people don't really care.

homosexuality is definetly not wrong.
nothing about it is wrong.
saying its wrong is like telling someone that theyre wrong for being a certain religion.
you cant exactly choose your preference.

I think that the friends who stopped being his friend and told you to stop hanging out with him are so arrogant and ignorant, theres is nothing wrong with him being into other guys it doesnt make him a changed person hes still the really good friend you had before you knew..sticking by him could strengthen your friendship so much more because he may not get the support he needs from others ( you can tell by how the other friends have reacted )..your definantely an awesome person if you do so :)
