I like all kinds of style of dress; and I kinda pick and choose pieces from most of the styles you listed. And of course, how I dress is contingent upon where I'm going or what the situation calls for. But more than anything, I'd call my "style" relaxed and comfortable ... whether I'm wearing jeans and a T or decked out in a dress. I have to be comfy.

A|X is overrated. I went in there for the first time the other day and was not impressed at all.

And I wouldn't call myself, urban, and I wouldn't call myself prep, I'm somewhere inbetween. Let's just say I'm casual.

Jesus christ, why are you back?!
1. It shouldn't matter what people wear. You just come off a d**k.
2. You shouldn't go "bashing" what people wear. There are plenty out there who would call your style shitty and that you look like a "crazy retard". Just shut the f**k up and be happy you can afford clothes. Stop f**king bitching about people who don't dress like you. My lord, it is their style leave them alone.
3. "...I don't give a shit about any prep stores though except for american eagle!! I mean that store gives me a f**king stomach ache everytime I go in there" What the hell do you think Abercrombie and Hollister are??? They are prep stores idiot.
4. Also the person who invented hot topic, is it not the same idiot who owns Abercrombie/Hollister?

That being said, I don't stick to one style.

Rachel your a f**king dumbass.

"I don't give a shit about any prep stores though except for american eagle!!"

That means that I don't care about any other prep stores except for AE, which basically shows that AE is the only "Prep Store" I dislike.

"abercrombie is ight, hollister i dont give a shit, banana republic is coo, and A|X is nice...Yeah. " In case you havent noticed.

Abercrombie, American Eagle, and Hollister is not preppy, that's suburban. Preppy is Ralph Lauren, Lilly, Brooks Brothers, Lacoste, and LL. Bean. Preps are confident and unafraid to express their own styles and be daring in their fashions.

Preppies don't:
* Wear tight, skin exposing clothing (ie fitted Abercrombie sexual tshirts with tight flared jeans)
* Limit themselves to mall shopping and chain stores. They gravitate towards long-established classic stores and boutiques unique to quaint New England towns.
* Wear heavy makeup and endless hair products. The phrase "less is more" is a preppy creed.
* Glue purses to their arms, especially when going to school. Lip gloss and if need be, a wallet, are thrown into tote bags along with books.

I dress preppy, no not the fake Abercrombie stuff, although I like to mix it in with a little punk, maybe a spike bracelet, and I also wear dogtags.

wearing hollister, AE, abercrombie doesn't necessarily mean you're preppy, i agree with xnofearx.
hot topic isn't all that bad actually, it's just not my kind of clothing

I don't even KNOW what to choose. Some people might say I'm preppy just because I wear abercrombie an hollister. I concur that they DON'T make you preppy. Preppy is a style of clothing, not necessarily a brand. You get what I mean? Also, those clothes happen to fit me.

I'd say I'm none of the above because I don't wear polos or those skirts like prep chicks wear. I almost always wear jeans lol. In fact, I haven't worn a skirt at all this year! lol. I just wear what ever's cute, comfortable, and trendy, I guess.

I'm so confused about all of these clothing genres... so much confusion over what each actually describes.

I wear sweaters, nerdy Model United Nations t-shirts, pants, skirts, oxford shirts. The only pieces of jewelry that I wear pretty often are a pearl necklace and a Darfur awareness band (click here to get them).

Favorite stores include H&M, the Limited, the Gap, and various conferences (I love free t-shirts).

At the moment, I am wearing this sweater. IT'S SO SOFT. T_______T

heehe wow..well i dont shop at hot topic so didnt know that..lol..its very...er....opposite..

anyways..im eclectic..well...since i dont buy my own clothes -__- the clothes my moms buys are "normal" actually...maybe not...like she hates the brand name stores b/c its $60 for a plain tee w/ a few letters (their brand)..so we go to those lil boutiques where they have very interesting designs and unique outfits..no 2 outfits r the same...so i guess...its..er..vintagey? iono...

but the clothes i buy for myself when i manage to sneak out of the house...r like..goth/punky...dark colors..lace..frills..spikes..corset..fishnets etc i love it

but favorite stores..boutiques all the way..and the lil fetish stores for corsets etc

Here's basically what my style is like:

I get up in the morning, right? Now, I probably fell asleep on my futon doing work. By doing work, I mean watching animé, or Sealab 2021, or something like that. Maybe I was even writing code for a project--who knows? Anyway, I wake up, still wearing clothes from the night before. Now, sure, I'd like to put on something clean, but--oh noes--I only have twenty minutes to get to class. So I pop in the contacts and put on my hat. I got the hat from AE for $20. I don't like American Eagle stores. I feel like they're trying to suck my soul out every time I go into one. But hey, the hat was nice. I wear it a lot. I'm pretty much known for the hat. I was at this party once, right? This dude comes up to me, he says, "Yo, you live in Vedder Hall, right?" I was like, "Yeah." He was like, "Yeah, I recognized the hat. I live in SE." I was like, "I live in NW." And no, the dorm is not named after the lead singer of Pearl Jam, but I wish it was.

So anyway, yeah, then I put on this corduroy jacket I have. It's very warm. It's from Abercrombie & Fitch. I don't shop at A&F. I'm a poor college student, and A&F is known for sucking souls. But I found the jacket in the trash last year. Perfectly good condition. It's a girls' jacket but it fits me okay, and it's warm, so I wear it. Then I put on my $15 shoes and head to class.

So then I come back and think, "Hey, shower'd be nice about now." So I gather some clothes. Mostly I have some nice Levi's. I've had them for a few years. They have some holes, but they're comfortable. You know how jeans are once you've worn them in. So I get those, and a t-shirt. I don't care what the t-shirt says--if it's cheap, I buy it. So it's probably from a yard sale, or someone gave it to me, or I got it for free for doing something, like reading Chinese stories to kids. Then I shower and put on the clothes, voilá, I'm dressed.

Style on a budget.

I dress Katie style.
The line mostly consists of Nice sweat pants and Jeans.
The shirts are usually artsy and unique if I can find them, I don't like wearing the same shirt as everyone else.
Alot of dark colors, black, red, blue, purple. I guess it'd be nice to have more white in the closet.
Mostly wear comfortable shoes, But if i want to look nice, I usually wear some nice jeans, black heels, and a nice shirt. I really like the sophisticated look. Shopping in New York, I find a lot of stuff I like.
I don't like American Eagle or whatever, too bright and cheerful in my opinion lol. I look fake in that stuff, no use trying to fake it.
I'll shop at Charlotte Russe, I like that store.
Mostly I just find stuff at small stores, I love the Black&White store, I'd buy the whole thing out if it wans't so expensive

It's a bird, kind of like an ostrich, often raised for meat.

Wait, damn, that's an emu. Never mind.
