My father who has worked in a hotel for 10 years is about to lose his job. They are selling the hotel, and I'm afraid our family will lose a lot, I don't know what to do, I have a newborn baby brother, and I don't really want him getting a hard life. I mean I already have a well paying job so I can support myself, although I'm more worried about my family. This is really stressing me out I just found out today. I've already lived a hard life so I know how it is, but I take out one problem in life, just to find out there's more waiting for me...

Aww. I know things will turn out for the better. You may or may not share the same faith as I do, but it's in God's will, and He will always be ther for you and your family. I'm praying for your family!

if that hotel is part of a chain like howard johnson he can easily get another job with another one of their hotels or any other hotel. with 10 years of experience, he's like over qualified.

your family must have some kind of money saved up. don't worry too much about it console.gif

There are surprises in life, good or bad, depending on your point of view.
I hope your dad finds a better and a more reliable&dependable job, so that he could support your family. Feel better, Edster. _smile.gif

Well, make sure your dad stay in touch with his boss so his boss would hook him up w/ a new job in his company. I'm sure that the boss would want him because your dad has been working for 10 years.

Lol the owner lives in France, and general manager would also be jobless.

No one knows who the owner is.

I'm really sorry to hear about that, Eddie =[
I hope that your father is able to get another job lined up for him soon so he won't be out of a job for too long. If you guys are able to do it, he could start up his own hotel with all the experience that he has! That may be a little unrealistic, though. Just a thought.

It's ok Eddie. It's not like he got fired, he still has a good record so that when he goes to any interviews or anything he has all good references. And maybe this will lead to an even better job! Well, no matter what, best of luck.

Turn over in management or ownership doesn't usually result in turn over in staffing. If the owner hasn't been in the hotel business yet, or even if he/she has been, he/she would need the expertise of current staff, that's your Dad, to ease the transition of new management. Well, that is the case most of the time.

If he does get laid off from the company, with his experience, it should be easy to find another position elsewhere.
