i LIKE IT, BUT I DON'T HAVE THOSE REQUIREMENTS. i WANTED TO CHANGE MINE, BUT DIDN'T KNOW BOUT IT `TIL NOW. 1500 POSTS? wELL ITS USUALLY 50 POSTS FOR BEING OFFICIAL/ACTIVE, BUT PEOPLE DO IT FOR THE HECK OF IT, SO MAYBE IF YOU DESERVE A NAME CHANGE, 100 POSTS WOULD BE GOOD, AND IF YOU HAVE NO WARNINGS OR NOT MUCH SPAMMING. wHAT DO YOU THINK, I'LL STAY TUNED.

I would hope not. Periodic names changes (with requirements set place) under the supervision of an admin is more desirable. I'm also am not in favor of too many name changes happening at one time because that could be very confusing. Even now, with the newest name changing, I am adjusting to them.

is there anyway to just give the name changing mod access to change the names and nothing else? like have it on a totally different page than the admin has it on so as not to mess with stuff.

Only those who have access to "Administration Panel" and actually can have access to the button "Management" in the User Admin control panel section, Can change/administrate the users database. But that depends on how this Forum was setup in the 1st place, but mostly all of them needs Admin rights to change the usernames.
And a Forum Moderator is not an Forum Admin, they only can have access to anything related to edit/modify/delete the Posts made by other users.
Just saying...

And a good idea will be a time limit, i mean not like allowing them to change their username when they have the chance to, if that person already changed his username last time when they were allowed.
