The truth of the hurricane needs to be known. you hear how they are slowly getting better, no they are not, they need more help than ever. We call them refugees yet... they are usa citizens they deserve better. the truth of hurricane katrina is horrifcily terrible. For example, the super dome. Most would regret going in and would rther of stayed outside. It was horrible in there. gangs had taken over with their guns. young babies and children were being rapped by other men. its just so terrible. I had some friends who were down there, they are now back up here luckily and they told me about their experience. it was hard for him (my friend) to tell me about it. He explained he was staying in a house with his family. He explained thre was a storm, but the news said it wasnt going to be that bad. Until he saw roofs of house begin to shake. Thats when his family fled the house to the super dome. He told me of the chaos and massacre that had been caused. people were being trampled as they would walk, even on normal roads. The super dome once more wasnt any better.

Gun fire could be heard from anywhere. the ground was covered with trash, bodies, fescies, and urine. He began to wince as he continued. He told me of seeing a young girl being dragged into a storage closet. He stopped at that part, then continues later on. He told me that there were no law enforcements inside the dome, they wrere all alone as it began to flood. He told me of animals that would kill people to survive for themselves. this is the truth i heard from many different stories. tell me what have you heard??

If this is wrong topic sryyy u can move if u want, if this has been posted then... well... ya... for this topic dont just say "thats terrible" or something, please what else do you know? and have you helped them yet? have you donated anything? well this is my *mini* summary of whats going on.

hmm.. i think the worst is over.. the hard part is gonna be in the next couple of months..

i watch the news alot and it seems like the people of lousianna are getting better.. i heard they are starting to make small communities and most have set up there addresses in the Astrodome..

the actual city of new orleans is bad because there is just some people that refuse to leave.. for example.. people on bourbon street.. the french quarter is fully intact and they just dont want to go.. it's there problem but they are son GOING TO CUT OFF THERE FOOD AND WATER.. which is pretty wild but it will work..

anyways.. thats all i have for now..

Wow. That just sounds terrible. I just wanted to say that some people there were pretty stubborn to stick around.. I'm not trying to sound shallow in any way though. I'm just saying, everybody heard the news of Katrina, something bad might happen, and yet they do not leave. :x

But my friend survived. Her family drove out to some other state before it hit which is good because I love her to death. XD I was hecka worried. So I guess she doesn't have any experience, but I hope her friends are okay too.

to continue on.. education

2morrow. HISD (the Houston ISD) will be going to the Astrodome to enroll all students and even Hire teachers! i dont care who you are, that is awesome. HISD has already enrolled over a 1000 students.. i go to school in the Cy-Fair ISD which is a neighbor of HISD but my school (already with 4000 students and at max capacity) enrolled over 20-30 kids and i live about an hour from the astrodome

amazing stuff.

i have a plan for future hurricane evacuations. but will anyone listen to me? no.

on the coast, stronge 'community centers' are built, they're dome shaped and all to resist the hurricane. they have bunk rooms (20 people per room) and stuff.

there is a limit of 300 people per shelter, if you need more, build another shelter. and so, you can't get a mob mentality.

now, as far was getting people evacuated:

each town is assigned another town inland to handle the evacuees. during hurricane season these two towns of similar size work together, to integrate students and families.

i feel so bad right now. i dont know what to say when i come up to this
-over 60% of the police resigned, some were lost, and others commited suicide

i keep on watching it on the news and i think the aftereffects its worse everytime. at first it was just houses and like about 100 ppl, now theres entire cites and 1000s of familes. also, the animals, like dogs and everything who has dead owners and no where to live and most likely die, its horrible.

theres soo much more going on, like what lightner said, i didnt even know about those conditions!

however, im donation clothes and money to ppl in need but im also afraid because this will happen again and again.

juss watching the people on tv and seeing how much they have to endure just to survive saddends me. there's some people that have not yet known what lies ahead of them... families are separted, and people are starving. this disaster made realize that i should appericate the things i have in life... family.... friends...clothes...food..and a place to call home..

its sad that this had to happen...

2. words, 1 RACISM,2 BUSH. (when this 2 things will dissapear, all will be like before.)
all they care,is what color of those ppl skin is.

they dont even need the Army there, ppl living like they are prisoniers in their own country/state.
if Bush knew he cant handle, why he didnt let the normal/usual ppl who are willing to help,to go there, and help them,if he cant help them more faster and he is just letting them to die like ANIMALS there because their skin color is BLACK.

DAMN RACISM in 2005. acting like the monkey's some bilion years ago.
this thingy will get so nasty, when ppl will start shooting themselfs to stay alive.

!HELLO! WAKEUP, NOR IF THEIR SKIN COLOR IS YELLOW/BLUE/GREEN/WHITE OR BLACK OR WHATEVER, THEY ARE HUMANS TOO! GODDAMNIT!.

Hm, did they really discriminate against blacks that much during the hurricane?
I'm surprised I didn't catch this on the news.

Yeah I'm very very very sad to hear about it. And I want to do something about it. But... I'm poor. My mom have $1000 in her bank and that's all. And we live in an apartment, so she has to pay $1000 for the apartment. So after that, no money.

So I can't donate. I bet there are people who cares about it and wants to help, but can't cause they have nothing to give them.
