It's anarchy there now. They had to stop medical evacuations because people were shooting at helicopters.

I hope they declared martial law by now. Because if I was the governor, I'd lay the smack down on the people causing trouble.

Katrina.

The people down there are going crazy, rather than helping each other out. For some reason, it's the government's fault. So they're taking it out on medical helicopters.

They make me sick.

Yes, it's ridiculous. Ultra liberals blamed it on the Bush Administration, Ultra religious people blamed it on gays.

But still, the people that are preventing the relief efforts from continuing need to be stopped.

I don't think martial law has been declared yet, since the civil forces are still in command and, aside from National Guardsmen, the military is not present. (The National Guard is not subject to the Posse Comitatus Act and therefore can act as law enforcement domestically, even when martial law has not been declared.)

You would think that in times likes these, people would try to help as much as they can.

right. my ride home from band today brought that up because another parent told him she didn't think Bush was going to stay much longer. fortunately, they remembered i was with them and they didn't know my views and we started talking about the weather instead. i'm usually fairly liberal, but this blame game is ridiculous

It makes me think of the Kaiser Cheif's song " I predict a Riot".

Yeah New Orleans is basically in anarchy now. I read an article on Earthlink news that these volounteer chefs were going to make food and the National Guard chased them out saying, " You better get out of here or we'll shoot your brains out." It's really sad. You think people would come together and help each other in this time of need.
