my school actually has freshman acadamy too, but they only started it last year, so i wasnt involved, and i wouldnt have been anyway since its not for everyone- mainly those in cp and some honors classes, and since im in gifted and honors (and now ap and ib) i wouldnt have been included

i dont know much about it, but a lot of their classes are located closer together than everyone else's, and next year theres going to be a freshman acadamy pod where most of the classes are. they also take a lot of field trips- ie, the zoo, renaissance festival, six flags, etc

it sounds like fun, but it only helps people who arent taking challenging classes

yeah, i thought it was dumb too- itll be yet another culture shock this year- but if you start off liking high school, maybe you wont hate it all the way, like me

...so? why do you want to talk to the freshmen? besides, the way my school works, it makes little difference and you can talk to them equally as much or little either way

My school is starting it this year too. I posted about it another topic kind of like this once. I'm gonna be a senior too. I don't care much for it though, I can see both sides for the reasoning of why my school decided to do it. I'm not remotely interested in someone that much younger than me anyhow.

Nope, my school is also "free range." I think it's better that way.

just think...theyre gonna get picked on as sophomores now...

thats like my school. it got so big they had to make a "freshmen center" to house the freshmen. so now we can just pick on them as sophomores.

Well, my school isn't big enough to have a seperate area closed off for freshman. But I wouldn't mind it!! It's not so much because they're freshman, it's just the class coming up. A bad bunch. So they should isolate that class all through high school. biggrin.gif

But no, we're free to go where we please.

ehh not really. well we have 3 or was it 4 sections. Section A which are the stairs. And then theres B, C and D. D was just added to the school; so its brand new.

and Our school has something like the group of Science and Tech. Media & Art and then theres Law and Humanities (me). We all belong in different parts of the school. Sci and Tech go to section D. Media and Art go to C and Law and Humanities goes to B. So most of our classes are in those sections.

Its ok, at least they are safe from some beatings.

Sad how the upper classmen hit on the younger students because they're desperate.

Nope.

what about the upperclassmen and the freshmen who've known each other for a while and just seem to click? rolleyes.gif

we're all free-range chickens. i throb.gif my sophomore. s.
ph34r.gifph34r.gif
shh, don't tell the other freshmen girls.
what absolutely bewilders me is that a bunch of people (who haven't known me too long) at my school can't tell if i'm a freshman or a sophomore.
it's cruhzazy.

I don't have that at my school. It doesn't really matter cuz it's really small, and none of the upperclassmen really care about the freshmen.

That's a great idea. It does ruin the experience but it's best to be familer with the campus first.
