... Of course.. But personally I don't think you deserve to be a mod. You take advantage of your powers. There are a lot of people who have applied for staff that deserve the position more than you. Like Kiera and Lorena. ermm.gif

steven, just because we're both mods doesn't mean we always agree on everything. it wasn't elitist and it sure as hell isn't worth reopening
*

the reason you closed the topic was because you didn't like it. what is next - you deleting posts from members photo because you dont like the way the member looks? you deleting poems from writing because they aren't good enough? please

Shame it's not up to you. Besdies which, you really haven't been around long enough to judge appropriately. You're just bitter because I thought your topic was stupid so you're taking out on me by making it look like I'm something I'm not. Suck it up. That's not the world works- people will disagree with you and you'll have to learn to deal

how is it completely irrelevant? both hypothetical examples i gave were scenerios in which the person with power closes topics because is it not to her liking. the topic "omfg" did not break any rules at all, and i suppose it could have been moved to humor for the comical value.

& congratulations on your 9000th post ! _smile.gif

Goodness, you treat me as if I don't know already. Yes, people a person is disagreeing with me right now. Learn to deal. Hm.. yes..

I think I've been here long enough to understand who is a good or bad moderator. I can judge appropriately because it's COMMON SENSE which apparently you have very little of. It seems you aren't understanding what me and Steven are trying to explain to you. MY TOPIC WAS NOT VIOLATING THE RULES. YOU CLOSED IT BECAUSE YOU PERSONALLY DIDN'T LIKE IT. + James. I'm not mad at you because you closed my topic. It's because of the reason you decided to close it. For yourself and James. That's abusing your powers as a moderator.

Edit//

Whoo! 9000. Wow. Congrats. pinch.gif

drop it. i refuse to debate over every topic i close, especially since i'm right 80+% of the time. it was irrelevant for the matter of common sense

you don't seem to.

and no, it's really not. you're taking this too personally. typically, i close topics that directly violate rules. that one did a good enough job grinding my nerves that i closed it as well. you can't say i'm a bad mod because of that. you're being judgemental when apperently you don't understand thse simple concepts

guys, guys ... GUYS!! 'tis not the time nor place to decide who is a good moderator and who should be mods. wink.gif now, let's all just chill out.

BACK TO TOPIC

no, that thread would be...uh...idk what it would be but we dont' need it. instead of just posting int the thread saying that it needed to be closed, just simply PM a moderator. that would work 32984328 times better than making a thread which we have to click, read yada yada yada yada....................wacko.gif

EDIT;; and for the record, nicki is a GREAT mod she's just been going through some major mood swings. console.gif

Okay, Katt, you sound a little over-reacting right now.
If a mod sees an unnecessary topic, they'll close it, problem solved.
If they don't see it, someone's gonna tell them to close it sooner or later so chill.

[james] i am her mood swings. and also, you're being silly, katt. none of the responses you quoted as being justification for the thread being open had any weight to them what so ever.... they were like cotton candy

'niceee tactic'

how is that remotely worth saving?

and for the record, dont lets start criticsising mods, because i can go off on a tangent about that all day long, so dont tempt me. nicki pwns.

technically i'm double posting, but deal with it, because it's going to be long, and we don't want my post to be a page long. we can pretend that last one was actually james. i'm not abusing my power; i'm being practical

look at the responces from the OMFG that you conveniently "forgot" to point out:

QUOTE(basick @ Jul 19 2005, 9:23 PM)

this was the first responce. immediate spam. plus, it was from steven, who was defening you. there's a team.

the entire topic was full spam. there were other stupid responces as well, but they actually had multiple words. but even so, there wasn't a single responce that had any actual content. steph's was te closest, but ok, that's one redeemig comment out of the other 28.

I don't think this is such a good idea. If we have cBers saying which topics need to be closed and whatnot, then that would cause a huge chaos. They will be arguing and disagreeing constantly. It's the mod's job to see unnecessary topics and close them. I don't think cBers should be involved. They will probably just drive them crazy.

^ It's no bother, really. You're supposed to do that. :] It's better than having 20 people post "this should be closed" in the thread itself. That doesn't help us find it.

Funny you should mention that. I've been thinking as of late that there should be a way to let moderators know of topics that should be closed (due to being redundant) or moved. I've sometimes been tempted to report them, but I think reporting is supposed to be only used in the case of an offensive topic and the like; furthermore, I seem to recall that reported topics alert every single moderator and seem fairly overkill for a topic that is redundant or misplaced. Perhaps there should be a way to report redundent topics or ones that need to be moved, similar to the reporting system but not as urgent.

Or, PM's could just be used, I guess, if that is considered acceptable to all the moderators.

Yea just..PM one moderator from that section.

The reason we don't want topics that need to be closed or something reported is cause it sends it to ALL moderators of that section, which is really annoying to people staff since there's so many. If one mod fixes the problem, then the other 11 click on it and it's already closed, it gets really annoying.

Also, people STILL CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REPORT AND REPLY. It's very very annoying to recieve 10 of the same report only to open the PM and see "why isnt my post working?!?!?!"

I believe he's talking about one of the topics that was closed.

Perhaps the one Katt was talking about?

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91979

Or the ones that are on the first page.
