You know for the fellow Americans that watch Animes and good portion of them are censored like animes that air on FOX and there are so much that is censored and our good fellow anime watchers dont even know what they are missing.

Like for example i love Cardcaptors, and now i have learned to find out that madison is a lesbian and likes sakura and her brother is gay and goes out with his friend. AND there are also a lot of lesbian and gay people in sailor moon.

so has anybody know of things they censored out in other of our favorite animes?

I knew that sailormoon was censored quite a bit, and the reason they got rid of it was that there was too much to censor and it cost too much.

Anime is always like that.
Sailor Moon is always a hit for me.
Although Sailor Neptune, Uranus, Fighter, Healer, Maker is lesbian and or bisexual makes no difference to me.

The whole thing about Cardcaptors being gay and lesbian is all new to me.

wait till they chop up Naruto to bits when it airs on September @ CN -_-, they already ruined Kenshin....and DBZ...and yes, even Yu-Gi-Oh was "bad" before coming to the US, where it then became "disastrous".

A lot of people. If you got the anime, you might as well watch it.
That also has nothing to do with this topic.

Censoring everything just kills it.
They should leave it as it is.
People don't have to watch it if they don't want to.

My boyfriend told me about the two people in Sailor Moon that were lesbians..my heart couldn't take it.

I didn't know all my favorite animes were...like that in Japan where they are not censored.

^ Well that's because Japan is more open about that stuff... Unlike most countries, who don't really care about nudity and such, the U.S. is seriously uptight about. Same with the homosexuality deal. You see tons of Yaoi/Shounen-ai/Yuri Manga and Anime in Japan, while the U.S. tries to block it out. Hell, they even censor out CIGS!!! I think that if there is content like that, there is NO point in trying to censor it all and either
A) Expose the children to it. They'll have to learn eventually
B) Don't show the anime at all! If it's a common theme, then just don't show it in kiddie channels like the FOXBOX!

Yeah, a friend of mine gets Arashi No Ceres as a manga, and she was telling me that they censor it completly in the english manga, and that it's "really bad" in the japanese version. ::shrugs:: For me I'd rather see the original copy, that's why the artist made it like that, so everybody could see the original and not some hacked up version.

I always suspected that "Madison" who's real name is Tomoyo liked Sakura in the lesbian way. I don't really care either. The artist/creators made it that way, so it should be shown that way. I hate how the US is censoring everything I like buying/renting animes and watching them in japanese and reading their subtitles for the show and not english dubbed, because everything is totally warped.

I already knew about both Sailormoon and Cardcaptors. With watching Sailormoon in the "ENglish" version, I could tell there were just a few things that didn't seem right with the way they would "hide" the lesbianism LOL it was quite a bad job.

It makes no diff to me tho whether they were gay or whatnot. I always found the story more interesting that way with the characters and stuff. I wish they wouldn't have to censor anything. I think there should be an anime channel that just keep things the way they are in Japanese and/or English

well, i love censored and uncensored anime. i hate english dubbed animes they sound ludacris.
i'm just really lucky that i have the complete including the movie, uncensored cds of GRAVITATION!!!
it was so hot, especially when your watching it with your girlfriends and discussing everything that you see. (take it denotatively). heheheheheheheheheh.........

it sucks when i start watching anime which is sensored i meen it's not like people are all brainless in the u.s., that people there don't know how two people kissing or doing anything else which involves kissing looks like (no hard feelings to people in u.s.) that's why i'm so happy to be living where i'm living but sometimes the anime here is crappy too because sometimes the kissing scenes and stuff like that are sensored.

i like the uncensored ones a lot better.. the ones they dub don't have cussing(which in some animes, it makes it more...(insert word)), blood, and other things. except if they're on adult swim... those have more blood and cussing. like fma and inuyasha.

They should keep it how it is.
Because then we find out it is censored.
And we start to dislike it...

If you read the manga versions, you find out all of that stuff.

I know they made blood in Gundam Wing look like water and cut out all blood from DBZ.

I think it's alright to cut stuff out if alot of kids are going to be watching the show. If the show was on the midnight run, play the uncut versions and when the show goes on DVD, use the uncut versions.

I knew about the Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors gay/lesbian stuff. There's a random frame in one Sailor Moon volume I have somewhere that has Sailor Venus molesting Sailor Moon. It was weird.

And in Card Captor Sakura, when Yuki feeds Toya after he breaks his leg, Toya blushes and gets all flustered. It made it really obvious they were gay.

^ I don't remenber that happening in the manga.. I have it at home and I read it through a couple of times... But its more of a love for a brother no? They were friends for how long.

I have friends who have read farther into the manga (cuz they're obsessed) and they say there are alot of gay references. It just so happens the feeding scene was the only one in volume 3. I haven't read the others.

And Li was portrayed as 'gay' in the anime when he 'liked' Yuki. Later on, he realized his homosexual feelings were actually only because he was attracted to Yue's powers and he interpreted that as a crush. Then he diverted that attention to Sakura.

^ Yeah thats right. Just like why each time Sakura felt "HANYAN" around yuki. Its because of the power that leaked through him.

I actually have the whole manga thing and I looked into the part when Toya got hurt and stuff.. He does blush. But didn't give no indication that they were gay.

Yeah, I knew about Sailor Moon but not much about Card Captor Sakura. I knew that Sakura's brother was gay but I didn't know that Tomoyo was a lesbian. They should have left it uncensored. It would have made it more interesting. When all of our anime start to get censored, we start to dislike then hate it.

^ even in the real anime they stop making tomoyo seem gay... She just really loved sakura.. Just like how tomoyo's mother loved sakura mother as well.. -___-

Clamp just has a way with making stuff seem lesbian and gay.. just like WISH and CHOBITS... Lolz
