So I made a 9 minute documentary and here are the stats:

Theme: 9 stories about 9 real people who have been through experiences and suffer from things they HAVE to deal with (whether an obstacle or a tradgedy) but it's not what the overcame, but how they overcame it.

Length: 9 minutes

Download: 30 MB

Link: .::Clickie::.

*note it is heavily compressed because it's 9 minutes long so it won't look beautiful but oh well*

Relation to people in the film:

Molly- (Depression) me
Grace- (Fire caused by herself) younger friend
Lucile- (2 grandparents with alzemiers) friend in grade
Zuri- (friend with belemia) Younger friend
Sarah - (adhd) graduated friend
Will-- (car crash into telephone pole) My twin brother
Grace 2--(hard to run)
Amanda- (OCD) friend
Luke- (Father in jail) boyfriend

K GO WATCh...tell me what you think. It will be entered probably into 5 film festivals if I can get the licenses for the two songs used.

Alright. I was treated to a sneek preview of this documentary and oh em gee. This puts Michael Moore to shame. The McDonalds guy to shame as well. This documentary is not about the bad, but about the good that comes FROM the bad. Powerful and meaningful. It shows some of the hardships teen's go through, to which the parents are complete are blind too. This is powerful. Good job!

Wow I love your videos. _smile.gif I enjoyed this.. I felt like it would give someone a newfound sense of hope. Like they could feel invincible because you can overcome anything. It's touching in the fact that these are all stories of how you can overcome everything if only you try.

Yea! What an uplifting story! Great job. You should submit it to some film festivals. I think you will be well received. Good luck! I give it 28 thumbs up.

awesome job.

i love the ending music. SO DRAMATIC. AWESOME.

i have one suggestion..you should put the text about endurance over the roll of clips of the people, instead of over black.

overall, it rocks. happy.gif

Oh yeah. I like that idea---but If i do it it will be kind of hard to read.L ike you won't be able to read it b/c the images underneath are already very complex images...unless somehow I place the text (each word) individually in different areas of each shot...which isn't hard, but then it won't go with the music and I"ll have a blank space in the video.... blink.gif

Thank you though!! I just I can't do it...Because then it won't go with the music anymore...and it kind of is supposed to?? *shrug*

you can cut parts of the music?? that's probably gonna be hard though..so i dk.

oh yeah, i dk..it might throw off the end, but some lower thirds would look cool. just something simple.

Yeah I can't cut it >< I promise. Like I already cut the first half of that 2nd song off because it would have made the movie wayyy too long. And cutting the end wouldn't work pinch.gif . I know what you mean though. I did exactly what you're talking about on another movie (for a 15 minute film i did). The lower thirds thing and different text positions does look cool.

Dude i need to post that one!! it's HILARIOUS....it's this fantasy film with my little 8th grade friend Corbin. Who played tiny tim (from "a christmas carol") several times in one of the major theaters where I lived. He's like a brilliant kid actor, but I could use him because he lives down the street from me. He also plays contra bass. OMG i'm obsessed with this little kid. Okay I need to post that film later haha.

not bad at all .... i enjoyed it.

good luck on getting the rights to have the music in your film. most of the time, recording studios don't mind if you use their music for festival reasons only. However, if used for commercial reasons, then it becomes a problem.

btw, what do you shoot with? the quality of your camera is remarkable.

Wow. That was really, really, touching. I loved it. I especially loved the ending, how you had the names, and then one of their quotes.

I hope to see more from you.

Yup I know about licensing and stuff- my mom owns a post-production recording studio and she has to do that all the time. I shoot with a Canon GL2 (Link Here if you want to know what it is). I had to buy it with my own money. Been saving since I was 8 years old for a nice camera and finally I had enough to buy one!! wink.gif

Thanks guys I really appreciate all your comments!!
