Who here likes gumbo? Do you like seafood gumbo, chicken gumbo, sausage gumbo, all three, a mixture of all three, or a different kind? What in your opinion is the best place to eat gumbo? Or, do you prefer homemade gumbo over getting it somewhere?

As for me, I loovvee gumbo. I like all three kinds I listed, but my mom makes chicken gumbo the most. I've only ever had gumbo at Red Lobster, and it was ok. I prefer homemade over any place you can buy it. Until I find someplace that can make some awesome gumbo. wink.gif

How about you guys?

(I searched and didn't find anything like this.)

Ooh! Gumbo! I love gumbo. It's so good. I've only heard of seafood gumbo. I got it from a restaurant once in it was really good. My aunt and my mom make the best though. Just thinking about it makes me want some. ohmy.gif

gumbo- A thick Southern style soup/stew made with meat, poultry, fish, shellfish or vegetables. Served over plain white rice. Okra, filé powder, and roux. All methods are acceptable, and all are considered traditional.

Yea, I like to ask my mom to make gumbo because she makes it sooo well and it's just so yummy. I never get tired of gumbo. I think I could eat it all the time.
