so maybe i'll regret typing this later because i'm in more of a rage right now. but i am just SO sick and tired of rascism. and i want to know who else suffers from it. if it wasn't for the pg-13 rule, i'd be expressing this point a lot easier.

for those of you who are wondering, the topic made by brandonsaunders is different than this one. the others i've been sent (below) are different. mine is asking WHY PEOPLE ENCOURAGE IT. so don't try and get this closed because "oh you feel it conveys the same meaning."

IT DOESN'T!

so today, when i went to drivers ed class, this one guy--let's call him jason, was telling the entire class about one of his driving experiences.

he was like "okay so i was at this intersection, and this stupid chink tries to pass me... etc etc etc"

and then everyone laughed and giggled and thought it was funny that, jason, such a witty little boy, would use such vocabulary in something that was directed towards the entire class.

**for those of you who don't know what a chink is, it's basically the word, nigger, against chinese people**

and you know what? call me sensitive but that extremely offended me.

it wasn't necessarily the fact that he used the word (which was bad enough), but the fact that everyone was laughing about it.

out of about 30 people, i was one of two azn people in the entire class, so everyone around me consistently started staring at me and snickering going "oooh is it gonna offend him?"

and that just about pissed me off enough.

the other azn girl may have ignored it, but i wasn't just going to sit there and take that

so i basically blew up at the class.

this one kid was particularly looking at me and giggling to himself so i couldn't take it anymore.

i started yelling at him.

i was like "JESUS F***ING CHRIST!! WHY THE F*** ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME? WHAT? YOU GOT A PROBLEM AGAINST AZNS? ARE YOU LOOKING AT ME 'CAUSE I'M AZN? DO YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?! IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?"

and he and everyone else backed down, knowing how serious i was about it. they were quiet about the issue, and the drivers ed teacher said nothing. she knew i was right, so she had nothing to say either.

--

so then my friends at drivers ed told me later that i was overreacting. everyone thought i was overreacting.

but i didn't think so.

i think i had a right to be mad at the fact that people think this is funny. that people think rascism is suddenly so funny.

and i thought of all the people out there that had to deal with these things--on a daily basis.

and me, living in texas, only encouraged it since, even when i live in an urban area in dallas, there are still some narrow minded texans out there that only see white as the beloved race.

SO

my question to everyone else is, do you guys ever have to deal with shit like this?

and if you're one of those a**f***s that make these remarks, or encourage it, why?

WHY DO PEOPLE ENCOURAGE RASCISM??

why do most people just sit there and let it happen in daily life?

Yep. My english teacher. He was all saying, Asian people that were imigrated her should go back to their own country & all the white kids in the class were agree with him. So, I was like, "shut the fck' up" & almost got a referral. But whatever. I totally agree with you. I'm chinese too. When they make fun of my race & religion (buddhist) I get super thuper pissed & I go off on them. Shouldn't see me on my bad side. Yah, feel better. It's wonderful how you stood up for yourself, race, & China.

Yes! mad.gif I have these pathetic white (not bein rascist) bitches that go to our school and they constantly try to pick on the black people at our school and it really makes me mad. I haven't been messed with much because of my reputation but they make me really mad. And then they have the nerves to say it's cause I'm black (white) isn't it.

to be cool. racism has become a part of our society, especially stereotypes that people just do it, and when others see their friends and "cool" people do it, its just like following them.

An actual racist is someone who has a strong dislike against a certain group, for example the KKK would be an extreme example.

It's not right to call someone a 'nigger' and finding it humorous, it's not politically correct for them to be called racist. They might be not at all against black people, but may find humor in that word.

And I don't sympathize with people who use the word, but don't let other use it. For example if a Hispanic said to another, "Hey Spic, let's go get something to eat" but they heard a white person called their Spanish friend a Spic they would say, "Hey, you have no right usin' that word. That's our word."

Since when is it right to degrade your friends with such an offensive word?

racist steryotypes are the worst. the ones who still think its 1950 and every white person in america is still a stuck up black-hater. when honestly, the blacks are the racist ones. they wont even tuch the white folks at my school. they find us so disgusting and whatnot. its quite immature and hypocrytical =/
but the worst of all is when they have the nerve to say "its cuz im black huh? you stupid white ho"

-_- ive had problems with this for awhile, but i wont go very far with this rant. that was the shiort version ^^

I understand that it's wrong to have racism and hatred, but seriously. Bitching about it isn't going to do anything. You just have to accept that your one opinion may affect others, but not all. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Well, I've had black people call me "extremely white" because I don't know what all those ghetto words mean. Like I hang around in the "hood" all day helping them make up new words? I get extremely offended; it's like you have to be black just to know what they mean, but when they talk to a white person they use all the words and laugh at you when you look at them confused and ask them to repeat what they said.

Other than that I've just be called a stupid blonde. Which is totall bullcrap because I'm in all honors classes and I make straight A's.

People are retarded. End of story.

But you know what... racism is everywhere. Even if people don't use derogatory terms to describe a certain race, they still have racist prejudices. For example. You, who feel as if you're being attacked because of your race, may develop racist prejudices against your "attackers." Maybe you will, and maybe you won't. But this is how these things can start: They hate me, so I'll f**king hate them back, more.

Be careful about what you say.

We all know racism is everywhere. Why? Because people think it's funny.
End of story.

I'm not sure what the question is now...

but when I was in school, I would get a racist comment most every day! I live in a town where it's like 85% whites and the african americans at the school didn't even come from my town, most of them lived in the city. I got stereotypical remarks, racial remarks... ugh. I made a topic on this raging my anger and it turned into like a 4 page debate. Actually, Trish lives like 20 minutes from my town and even went to the highschool i'm going to attend in the fall. but yeah, i get called a "chink" and I see people's profiles with their inside jokes about "chinks" or about some other racial stuff. There's this town that's like 70% asian and this white kid who moved to Braintree said he grew up in "chinktown." Ugh, pisses me off so much.

Here's the topic: http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=43066

if you wanted to know.

But yeah, the school I'm gonna go to next year, my brother said that they make fun of asians so much and they always pick on this asian esl girl that's a freshman and just.. other stuff. Ugh.
