==================================

A Filipino protester shouts anti-government slogans during a rally near the Malacanang Palace in Manila June 27, 2005. President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will address the Philippines later on Monday ' on an issue of vital concern ', but oil prices and the economy may be higher on her agenda than a political storm over claims of wrong-doing.

For those unaware of the situation but would like to learn more, try here:

If the allegations are true, it's a real shame.

[edit]oh yeah, it also sucks since FPJ died from sadness after the election. if she really did rig it, is she indirectly responsible for his death?

i mean, the thread is asking for opinions, not setting up a debate. ergo- it shouldn't be in debate.

well, when people have different opinions, they can debate then.

edit:

I believe there should be a re election. the philippines has to clean up its reputation. I don't believe GMA can run the country effectively now, so I believe she must go (I wanted her to win the election!). The Philippines cannot afford to have another corrupt leader. another election needs to be run in order to restore confidence in the filipino government.
