I was at my friend's xanga just earlier and found this post about Bush banning Anime forever from the United States of America. Some moron who disguised his/her name as "The Undersigned" as written a letter to the President demanding him to BAN ANIME FROM THE STATES. Here's the letter:

Here are a few examples of anime which are circulating on the Internet and may very well be in your home: 1) Ah My Goddess: A sick and disgusting show which causes children under the age of 18 to think they are capable of love. The main female character is clearly under 18, and is forced into a romantic relationship by an older man who "wishes" for her to be his girlfriend forever. He even KISSES her, and she appears NAKED. That poor girl must be so confused. 2) Love Hina: I'm not even going to mention the unspeakable, disgusting, pedophilic, pornograhpic events which transpire during this show, but suffice it to say, groups of young men on Love Hina-fueled rampages are raping children at a level unheard of since the 60s. If you are a parent or a decent human being, I urge you to sign this petition to ban all forms of anime in the United States. Anyone who is found in possesion of anime should be arrested and jailed for an exhorbant period of time. Anime is a dark scourge upon our beautiful nation, and we don't need this Japanese filth corrupting the hearts of the children. As a resonsible Christian, I demand to see this garbage removed from our nation. Please sign this petition and send it to George Bush, your Congressman, and the makers/distributors of anime filth and depravity. Do the right thing. okay, i have it up to here with the over obseesed christians trying to ban things (no offence meant in any way)...harry potter being evil...and now anime......
Bush may do something about it, he did waste his on that one case with the woman who was basically a veggtable and the husband wanted to pull the plug, but the parents didn't because it was against the bible. Bush got invlved in that because of religion.....idk maybe the whole dar land of japan thing will make him think other wise.... |

She was pretty much 3/4 dead anyway! It's her parents fault for not unplugging her sooner. Even if Bush DOES ban anime, he should know that his popularity will soar even lower than it already is, not to mention the fact that maybe, TV channels whose anime shows are most popular will fight. It'll also pretty much make america look even worse in foreign country's eyes for doing such a petty thing like banning anime. |

yea, if he does ban it ill be beyond pissed, i like my shows (ghost in the shell, inuyasha, full metal alchemist, samari shamploo, parainoia agent...all the adult swim ones)

HA! I'd looove to see what would happen if Bush did ban anime...there would be a rebellion like the world has never seen before.

Under 18 and not capable of love?! Geez - I love my boyfriend! "The dark land of Japan" ??!!! That's just funny. A lot of what this person is complaining about is just from culture shock. I'm a conservative Christian and don't always agree with the kind of content on some anime shows, but I'd never go so far as BANNING it. |

Well first off, lol, Bush can't ban Anime all by his lone-some. He has to bring the attention of Congress, and maybe the Supreme Court if I'm correct. If he doesn't, then he would still also have to ban "The Avatar: The last airbender" for it to be justified. Seeing as in that letter he states that "Japan is a dark land", he must also say that America is a dark land, for producing an All-American Anime show (The last airbender). I'm not totally sure that The last airbender is totally American, but I think it originated from America. If Bush was to have to also ban American Anime, then our economy might be affected, and no one wants that lol. :P Anyway, if I'm right or wrong, I'm sure Bush would not pay attention to something as idiotic as that. He may be Bush, but he didn't become president being stupid. So, those are my thought lol. I find the whole thing funny now, but when I logged into my Youtube account, and a friend had sent me a mail saying anime was being banned I was freakin out lol. But I'm okay now.... I really am :P. I also made an account at this site, just so I could post this extremely long post about someone which clearly doesn't need to be posted on. By the way, I'm not a nerd, I just have a little better typing skills than others I suppose. Anyway, I've dragged this out long enough. Goodbye peoples. Anime is awesome... Seriously.
