I thought it was - thanks for confirming my suspicion. Wow. No one ever told me about how it was actually a scam.

It's not a scam. It's just for rich people. Poor people have no reason to attend.

That has nothing to do with it. I'm quite tired of your pointless sarcasm. If you don't have anything reasonably necessary to say, just stay off the board. You're basically spamming. Stop acting like you're so much better than everyone else.

ohmy.gif Wow, you find scams everywhere, even when inspiring writers/poets that want to send in their hard work. I'm very sorry that you got ripped off of that poetry site. Good thing you got most of your money back ($50) though.

When I was 9 poetry.com sent me something like that. My English teacher said I was a good poet, so I thought I'd enter. Luckily, when I got the notice, my mom saw it and told me it was probably a scam.

Yep. I've submitted like 10 poems there over 4 years ago and recieved the same letters and blazay blazay blah. I was pretty excited about it but never bought the book. Then over the next few years they kept sending me the same letters and encouraging me to buy their book. That's when I realized that there was something fishy about the entire thing.

It's not sarcasm, have you read the pamphlet? only rich people go to crap like this. Quit being so accusatory. I've done nothing to you.

There. It is a scam. I doubt that 20/20 would broadcast something that wasn't true.

Hey, you don't have to do something to me to tick me off. But technically you did by posting something completely unnecessary on one of my pooems. You left a pretty bad impression. Oh well, as if I care. rolleyes.gif

^ Did they tell your friend that if she attended the thing in Washington DC, she might win $10,000? Because I don't think they'll notify you that you have won. Besides, they do that to thousands of people—and they end up wasting their money for nothing.
