Anywho, I just got onto my computer and as soon as I typed it 'hotmail.com' and it brought me to the homepage, the little... search bar thing where you type in the addresses was gone.



What happened? How do I get it back?

I had to use Firefox (which I hate) because my brother installed it for his own use. I <3 my IE.

If you right click on the toolbar next to the searchtool, it should say the name of it and there should be a check next to it. Click on it and it should disappear. If not, then go to your Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. It might be Spyware/Adware.

i suggest using firefox instead.

the mysearch bar, if I'm not mistaken is spyware. this wouldn't happen with firefox.

but if you insist on using internet explorer, then right click somewhere in the grey area on top, and make sure address bar is checked.

Yeah, the Address Bar is checked. I'm almost positive it's spyware. I'm thinking it's because my brother's friend had me download Ares or whatever. Supposed to be some kind of music sharing thing. Iever since I did, it's screwed my internet up and froze my computer.

Remove MySearch bar. It might have hijacked your internet explorer. Mysearch bar may have come with WeatherBug, well, when I installed WeatherBug, I hit custom install so it wouldn't install that. Maybe try to type in the URL where MySearch is. If all that fails, I'd suggest Firefox

All you do to get rid of it is go to control panel add or remove programes an find Mysearchbar an uninstall it an it won`t be there no more.

try mozilla firefox like kyro said. it is much more safer.

Uninstall it. Or it it bugs you right click the top where your search bar usually is, then just press mysearch and it should be gone, but still on your computer.

try look in Control Panel's "Add / Remove programs"

if it's in there, delete it. if it's not, run spybot. but I say you should run spybot anyway, since deleting it thru uninstalling keeps some of the registry stuff.

Download CWShredder here to its own folder.

Update CWShredder

* Open CWShredder and click I AGREE
* Click Check For Update
* Close CWShredder


Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about. Reboot your computer into normal windows

Control panel>Category View>Add/Remove Programs>
Then check for the searchbar thing and delete it.
It shouldn't show up after that.

Don't EVEN touch firefox, it has a built in ad thing that is left on ur PC, and they also block sites that they don't like. Avant Browser has put Firefox in the Dust, 125,517,139 downloads - plus its all in on browser, save on resources.

What "built-in ad thing" does it have, and what sites does it block?

Well as for the ad blocker, it helps to reduce flash ads on site like www.bravenet.com and MSN and such. It reads the files somehow, I dunno how it works exactly, but it was stated on the firefox site once.

As for the site blocking, It blocks sites that have mass amounts of popups or flash ads and such. Like crack sites, www.bravenet.com, and torrent sites and such. I have had the problem when I used firefox 1 and 1/2 years ago.

Another thing is its nice way of waiting resources, it does tabbed browsing when you tell it to, but as for clicking on a link in a page, its like opening the application again. Now with say Deepnet Browser or Avant Browser this does not happen. IE does the same thing, but I dont use IE, I use avant browser.

It doesn't block the sites--it blocks popup ads. And out-of-the-box (so to speak) Firefox doesn't do anything with Flash--that requires a plugin to block Flash ads. It also doesn't "leave something on your computer"--it simply scans the code of a webpage and tries to make a guess whether a popup is generated automatically, and blocks it if it is.


Opening multiple "instances" of Firefox does not dramatically increase resource load. If the application is already open, opening another window will take a bit more RAM (as does any application), but it's not "like opening the application again" in that it takes just as long to open and doubles the amount of resources used.

Actually if we want to go into more details, I was using the beta... So maybe that's why it was messing up some what..... I just realized that I had the beta installer, It might deserve a re load. Beta
