Every year in June Filipinos around the Tri-State Area gather up in Madison Square Park in Manhatten to Celebtrate Flip Independence .....think of this parade as the "Puerto Rican Day Parade" and the Latino- American Day Parade" . Im gonna be soo happy cuz im gonna see almost every friend and aqquaintences i know who are flip i in one spot lol ....and add that with the music and the food its gonna be fun = D I Just Cant wait !! anyways is there any celebrations like that , that you know off ? and if you live around nyc are you going ? ...hope to see u there

i live in manhattan and i had no idea filipino people get a parade

xiMiJix are u sure it's on June 6th or June 5th? Cause the 5th is on a Sunday and the 6th is on a Monday. I want to go (I go every year) but I have a concert to go to on the same effing day.
 Omg i hope its on the 6th..

There is an upcoming Filipiniana Festival at Towson. But last year was great. Not to mention, the smell of every Filipino food around the street, and the sweet sound of tagalogs everywhere. Oh, and the parade, the Filipino mass (said in tagalog) and all the fun stuff. That was enough for me, just to satisfy my homesickness.

There's going to be a Filipino festival in San Francisco in June also! My dad is the one who organizes it all, so I go every year.
It's always pretty fun... Filipino celebrities come and perform, and there's food, games, rides, and other stuff to do.

we just had a "barrio fiesta" here last weekend. all to do with the filipino culture. |
