There were so many! it kinda disturbed. what do you guys think about this? ermm.gif _unsure.gif

Yeah.. I have anorexia... It's not that I stopped myself from eating, it's just that I get so full from a light snack, so I can't eat that much anymore.

I don't really know my opinion on this.
Because a lot of the boys I know are anorexic.
And most people who are either of the two, you sometimes can't tell.
I really don't know.

My best friend in high school was bulemic. She didn't admit that she was sick until she started throwing up blood. By then, she had done permanent damage to her stomach. She will have bleeding ulcers in her stomach for the rest of her life. She also damaged her teeth from throwing up so much. She had to have some of them pulled and others filled and sealed. She can't eat anything spicy, steaming hot, meat of any kind, or anything really acidic, like oranges. She can't drink soda or alcohol or take some medications because of her stomach.

It is a mental disease that spirals into a physical one. It is dangerous and fueled by a society where thinner is better and the thinner you are, the prettier you are and the more people supposedly love you. Starving yourself and purging yourself is dangerous and stupid and it destroys those around you once they realise what's going on. I can't tell you how many times I had to help my best friend out of the bathroom at school after her throwing up had gotten the best of her. How many times she fainted, had chest pains, fell down.....her hair started falling out and she began having headaches and seeing spots, all caused from not eating and putting her body through the rigors of throwing up many times a day.

If you have an eating disorder, please get help. Don't let other pro-ana/bulemia people egg you on. Those people are just as sick as you if not sicker. Don't let it get to the point where it's death or permanent damage. Get help. No one will love you any less if you're average weight or even overweight. People who like you cuz you're thin, pretty, exotic...are shallow people and don't deserve you anyway.

DON'T LET AN EATING DISORDER DESTROY YOU. OF ALL THE THINGS TO DIE FROM, AN EATING DISORDER IS ONE OF THE MOST PAINFUL THINGS TO DIE FROM BECAUSE YOU MAKE THE PEOPLE THAT LOVE YOU WATCH YOU WASTE AWAY. THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO, BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO LET THEM HELP YOU OR YOU ARE SO SET ON CONTROLLING THIS ONE THING IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU LET EVERYTHING ELSE SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL. YOU LET YOUR EATING DISORDER CONTROL YOUR LIFE, AND ULTIMATELY, IT WILL CONTROL YOUR DEATH AS WELL.

sadly, internet has actually helped more girls (and boys) to develope eating disorders. i think it's wrong what they are doing. if they are ana or mia... that's their own issue, but must they help other people develope an eating disorder too? if i was anorexic or bulimic i would not make a website giving tips to help other ana or mia people. they do need help... it's scary that they are actually "dying to be skinny".

Anorexia and Bulimia are a lifetime struggle. You don't just wake up and have it or say "I'm really skinny, omg i'm aNa!!**!!". I've been struggling with my appearance my whole life and started suffering from anorexia about 4 years ago. It is an endless and daily struggle, and it's also extremely personal. I've attempted recovery many times but I always go back, the disease is always there.

Don't mess around with eating disorders, and don't claim to have one if you don't. It's not something fun or something to brag about.

Finally someone who admits to having the disease, but did not compensate her common sense for it. It is sad when girls feel they must brag on xanga about the daily abuse of their bodies. Its true purpose is only to make themselves feel better about the situation, unaware they are further jeapordizing their fellow supporters chances of ever overcoming the disease (as well as their own).
Like glitterxthin said it is a personal matter, not a trend that should be portrayed as a fun or rewarding lifestyle...because ultimately it is not.

I'm not sure what you're asking, Frankie, but if you're asking if I think it's wrong, then yes.

A lot of people complain about their weight, when they really need to realize that it's their fault. If they look at their daily diet, it's probably filled up with fatty shit. I'm exactly that way. But I don't think I'd ever turn to anorexia or bulimia as a solution.

If the weight problem is something genetic, they just have to learn to love and accept themselves.

People really need to stop saying, "It's because of models in magazines." Think about it. Would you really want to see overweight people on the pages of your magazine? And anyone who would feel bad about themselves because of someone thinner than them is just weak.

Not to mention that vomiting constantly is really bad for your stomach and teeth..

i have to admit, i almost gag sometimes when i look at myself in the mirror with a bathing suit on or something. usually i wear clothes that don't show that i'm not as skinny as people perceive. i probably would be anorexic or bulemic, but it's just too extreme for me..i don't want to put myself through pain to compensate for the pain i feel about myself. life is pain, and people have to get through it..

however, i know what it's like to care so much about your appearance. it's shallow and superficial, yes, but people have reasons. if people want to look good, then so be it. i have a very extremely low self-esteem from years of torment over my looks. in middle school i was often called "ugly pig thing" by a couple kids in my grade (well, more than a couple..) so, naturally, i wouldn't feel too hot about my looks. i'm overly cautious about it and i complain about every little thing that isn't right. i want the teasing and name-calling to stop with me, so i do everything i can to make myself look good enough for people to treat me like a human.

i don't think it's wrong to be anorexic or bulemic at all. people care about how they look; it's natural. these people are probably bullied or teased about their looks, so they're overcautious. or in the case of mary-kate olsen - she was probably pressured by other celebrities. now, i know; the girl is freaking tiny. but she probably looks in the mirror and doesn't see that beautiful, perfect body she has. she sees every little imperfection and wants to fix it. anorexia and bulemia is a way she could. i'm not saying it's good or anything..just that i understand why people would choose to take that route.

i have a friend who is a member on a ana site. I've looked at it with her... its actually very sad. Some girls weigh around a 100 pounds and still claim to be "discusting." Their goals are extreme and frightening. As for my friend, I hope she realizes that to lose weight you have to do it the healthy way. Not starvation. As for myself. I am a little overweight 145-150 lbs. But I eat whatever I want and I'm happy. biggrin.gif

Do you realize those of you who are saying how disgusting it is..... how sick of it You Are! These are actual disorders and if you get the picture it is not about you! So instead of disgust show care or find someone who can. No one is asking you to watch them puke. That's not the real issue anyway. But just stop whining about how sick you are of it...... You have to realize there are other issues going on and while you see one thing they see a distorted image. So know where to step in know where to back off . huh.gif

Aw, but you're so pretty! console.gif And I agree with you: I've been teased about my weight, and I'm actually trying to lose weight.

But anorexia/bulimia isn't going to help at all. It's really horrible to see those girl just starve themselves like that.
