Yeah Im currently searching for a job for the summer. But I dont know how to fill up a job application. Im sure someone here has a job or whatever. But anyways any tips or advice for me would help a lot. I dont even know who to use as a reference. This may be dumb, but I always get stuck on these type of things.

right now i have an app for a place called Peets Coffe and Tea. And it asks 3 questions that I have know idea on how to answer.

1.What do you think youll enjoy about working at Peets?
2.What is your definition of customer service?
3.How often do you drink coffe or tea? What is your favorite type of coffe or Tea?
4.Attendance and punctuality are important factors to an employee's successor failure with Peet's. How do you maintain good attendance and punctuality?

Okay see I dont even know that much about the place so I dont really know how to answer #1, I just heard about the opening from school. And #3 I dont drink coffe or tea. Should I lie. I do have frappucinos at Starbucks. But I dont know if that counts as coffee.

You should always be as honest as you can in apps.

To answer number one, all you need to do is look around the store and observe! How's the staff? How's the customer? Are they happy?
Numero dos is a little more tricky. Customer service means a lot of different things to different companies, but the easiest way to understand it is by looking at the word "service" as you would look at the word "relationship". Anyway, you could say something like... Customer Service to me is knowing the regulars' names and being able to personalize greetings, meaning, being able to say more than just "hello, welcome to Peets".
Be as honest as you can on number three. Just say, in truth, you're not much of a coffee, or tea drinker, but assure them that you can learn to familiarize yourself with the drinks. Don't mention how you're going to achieve that, just say you are going to do it.

Ooh. Yummeh. You better hook me up with some Mango-A-Go-Go.

Anyways, you shouldn't lie. It's best when you're honest. What if they found out you lied? See?

Mango a go go thats my fav!!!

For refences, use a teacher you got good grade from..or like a coach or choir or band direcot. People like that are good. Also, try using your parents friends that know you. Or your friends parents! Thats what I use. Just try to answer honestly. Stay away from trying to say what they want to hear, but they can tell. THey read lots of those things a day. Oh, and u should apply for Blcokbuster. Its an automated application. Makes life easier. And for future reference, have a peice of paper with you with all your reference info, and fill out the application IN THERE!! Don't take it home and come back. It helps people remember who you are better. ANd intorduce yourself to the manager if you can. If when you come in there is no manager, fill it out there anyways, and find out when they will be there. Come back then, and introduce yourself. A lot of managers wont even look at the apps for people they dont recognise. Do things to make you stand out in thier mind. okay, I'm done.

haha, im not getting a summer job this year. gonna be spending LOADS more time playing tennis...practically the entire summer before i go on a cruise in ALASKA!! biggrin.gif

actually, i might be doing some sort of internship at my aunts place but i dont think thats really the same thing as a job, and i dont need to fill out an application.

but i figure that you should be honest in your application. dont write things that arent true, like with the coffee and tea questions - just write that you have fraps but not coffee. or something like that.

usually, don't they have an application already for you? and all you have to do is just fill out all the blanks or something like that..._unsure.gif anyways...just use some good family friends and sometimes even a family member as a reference. and you will usually put down all the stuff you have done throughout school and how much other job experience you have had. happy.gif

im working at a couple of summer camps, but most of the applications had to be turned in a while ago. u have to ask them for an application, and u could always ask ur parents to help u fill it out.

1.What do you think youll enjoy about working at Peets? itll be great to work with such nice people. basically, kiss ass as much as possible without seeming like it.
2.What is your definition of customer service? satisfying the customer's needs
3.How often do you drink coffe or tea? What is your favorite type of coffe or Tea? tell the truth. except if u hate coffee, dont say that.

What do you mean you don't know how to fill one out? Where it asks for address, you write in your address, silly!
