So, I have a question on this, because I am sure that most haven't.

Have any of you adopted a wild animal before?

Bleh, a couple days ago [Friday I believe] a baby fox squirrel, yes it was blind, fell out of my tree and I decided to pick it up with gloves and put it in a box. Now, someone noted to me that it's mother does not come back after a human hand touches it, so I "adopted it". I have fed it what it said that I should feed it, online, and it, in the little time that I have "adopted" it, has grown fast, and has opened its eyes and can see. The only thing I will have a problem with is letting it go when it gets older :sigh:.

Ooh a baby squirrel? How do you know it was blind? Maybe it was just born, so they couldn't see anything? Maybe...

Anyways, that's sad that you have to let it go, I mean I bet the momma squirrel really misses her baby. I mean you adopted her without her permission, that's kinda like stealing hehe. But since it's all grown-up...I think you should give its freedom. And, if the squirrel wants to come back to you, then let the squirrel in. Just be sure you have a collar for your pet, squirrel.

I don't think I ever adopted an animal. But I babysitted a bunny hehe. A white bunny. I named it snow white when her real name is Sony An. She's asian that's why...she's from asia. Well I don't know if it's called adoption or babysitted because we took care of that bunny for 8 months and let it go. Because this korean rich family couldn't take care of the bunny for awhile, so i told them that i will... for free. since i liked bunnies that time, but not anymore. they scare me.

i dont think jenny would know this because she was like a baby lol. so yeah i was like 2 years old ^-^

I used to catch ladybirds before the nice ones not the evil ones that eat everything. I had a squirrel before and it was very cute, we let it go in the end. I have adopted a panda it doesnt exactly live with me but i send it like money every month, i think its like from a wwf charity, ooo i love pandas lol.

Just to tell you sir, rabies is carried mainly through bats, raccoons, possums, other wild, larger omnivorous animals. Hm.... but yes, there is a VERY VERY low chance that you get rabies from squirrels, as the rehibilitator told me.... and she even picked up my squirrel with her bare hands while i was careful that it wouldn't scratch me. I hope he's doing okay :/.

Interesting! xD Good luck in taking care of that squirrel; and it will be harder to let go... I had a dream yesterday that I was taking care of a minscule seal. It was weird, but I liked it a lot.

Uhm,
1. the "momma squirrel" didn't come back after 2 and a half days of leaving it in a little cozy box outside of the tree where it fell from, so I naturally took care of it after.
2. If the "momma squirrel" doesn't come back, you naturally have to take care of it because if you don't it dies, because after all, it is a baby.
3. It's not "all grown up". He happened to be about 6 weeks old when I gave him to the rehibilitator. They are babies until they are about 12 weeks old.

>.>

And, emazing, read what I put a couple entries back instead of reading just my first entry >.>. I did give him away to the Humane Society, despite giving him proper treatment, as the lady told me I did. =)
