they are both virtually the same thing but i think that newbie sounds better. if you do something wrong, i would call you a n00b instead of a newbie! ph34r.gif

i consider them the same thing. I sort of think of a newbie as a normal newbie and a n00b as a mean newbie _smile.gif

Newbie- Better type of spelling.
N00b- Stupid kind of spelling.

Other than that, it is all the same.

n00b used to be the "cute" form of newbie...

I miss those days.

I went on to Neopets to the newbie board to help anyone out and didn't directly call them a n00b, not like "Hey, you... n00b!" but in a way that was like "helps for n00bs, and i was bad-mouthed way out.. pinch.gif

n00b = insult-like
newbie = affectionate term

Read that somewhere.

They're used interchangeably now, so it doesn't really matter, I suppose.

n00bs are people who just plainly stink or use cheap things.

newbs are people who just started

Newbie can be both welcoming and insulting, depends on how you take it. n00b is mostly insulting.

agreed. n00b is more on the insulting sid, but Newbie's friendly happy.gif

To me, the n00bs are the asshats of the internet. They're newbies but 400 times stupider.

Newbies are just people that are new to something on the internet.

That's basically what I've always gone by.

agreed. n00bs are the complete idiots. newbies are just...new idiots. rolleyes.gif

I don't know, but in my opinion.
I think of n00b as they are new. But know some around here, just little.
Also I think of Newbie as like they don't know anything at all. They don't know the rules/directions at all.

i think they have different meanings..

a noob is someone that has been on something for a long time... and still doesn't know anything at all. I think they are stupid.

a newbie is someone that's new and learning how to be on something or do something.. but they still don't really know anything at all...yet.

Well ive been playing tons of games since like 2nd grade. Ive noticed when someone calls you a n00b, they mean, you suck leave we hate you learn to play. When someone calls you a newb, they USUALLY mean that you're new, and you need to learn some basics. Both LITERALLY mean the same thing, just meaning different things.

Like blowjob and giving head....cept in that case both are kinda good XP
